Thanks for the quick answer. But I have a problem, whenever I open my sammy firmware using FWTB, I would get the following error "Run-time error '6': Overflow" How do I fix this problem?
Thanks
Try using firmtool with your samsung orig.bin and the BenQ iXtreme v1.1 bin. I wrote support for spoofing benq firmware, so it should work fine. You will get an error stating that the drive serial is invalid if you dont use an original benq firmware first, as i stated for v79's above.

Do other drive models have embedded serial numbers? This is the first i have heard of this.
So if i understand correctly there is a SATA command that could be sent to "GET SERIAL #" and the benq has a string in its flash it will send as a response?
If benq is only drive to have this s/n then wouldn't it be bad if my benq spoofed as a 0079 responded to a "GET SERIAL #" command?
Hitachi's have a unique hitachi player serial and i'm not sure if it is static or not. Since we dont flash that sectors on a hitachi, it is never changed. A samsung doesnt have anything that i know of.
So yes, if they issued the command to your 'spoofed Hitachi' and it responded, they'd know that it was a spoofed drive. This isnt the only inquiry command that is unique to this drive, as they are all different. This is why there has always been a warning about using spoofed drives.

I read on casters post that firmware toolbox should not be used. Should i reflash with a firmware made using firmtool?
As far as i know, 360 firmware toolbox does not copy your drive serial number from your original firmware to your hacked benq firmware. The iXtreme benq firmware has that section 'FF'd out, so if inquired, your drive iwll give an invalid response. Open your the hacked firmware you created with a hex editor and goto offset $FF00. If $FF00-FFFF is full of 'FF's, and is missing the string, 'Wisely Loves Lan', then it was not copied.
