Benq Ixtreme Is Complete!
« on: October 24, 2007, 05:48:00 PM »

[16:24] <@c4eva> benq ixtreme is COMPLETE!
[16:24] <Knodi> zOMG c4eva
[16:24] <revery01> Yessssssssssssssssss

<@c4eva> Benq fw reports capacity of game discs as $7fffffff, this will make any spoofed drive detectable, as they will report back correct capacity

<@caster420> translation = no using benqs in non-benq 360's

<NDT3> no flashed hitachi or samsun as a benq on live

<@caster420> if you spoof a sammy to a benq, the 360 will think it has a benq but it wont report the correct size
[16:57] <revery01> so if you have benq and flash ixtreme on benq will you be detected?
[16:57] <NDT3> it's not safe the way around too
[16:58] <@caster420> correct NDT
[16:58] <dejesus> yeah i have the same question as revery01
[16:58] <@c4eva> Benq ixtreme leaves it unchanged, all safe

<V|PER> so bascaly use the ben fw on a benq
[16:58] <V|PER> dont swap the benq drive into a system that didnt have a benq
[16:58] <V|PER> or dont swap a sammy into a benq system
[16:59] <@caster420> or a drive into a benq system
[16:59] <@caster420> correct

MODERATOR EDIT -
<c4eva> by the way, capacity on benq is all ok, seemed to be bug in using my VIA, so spoofers are ok, correct capacity is returned

^^ You can ignore the previous comment on not being able to spoof correctly. All is well

That is great but that don't sound good for all us that have Samsung and Hitachi drives spoofed as benq.

Or am I reading that wrong?

Any releasedate? If it's done/complete then what's holding it back?

Anyway, kudos to C4E!  smile.gif

And how did i know this was going to be the first question? *sighs*

Its finished, but not tested. Or did you want to test it and run the possibility of getting banned, or perhaps rendering your drive useless?

There IS some form of quality control you know.

The problem with spoofing only comes with a console that does not originally have a benq, but you decide to replace your drive WITH a benq. That will *possibly* be detected, and used as a means for banning in the future. Obviously we dont know what MS will do, we can only speculate as to what their possible actions could be.

I got the pro edition batch 738, i went home and open that sucker up, seems like it's the 65nm chip (new sink + falcon board). i didn't bother lifting up the heatsink, came with a BenQ drive, so this is deffinitely good news for me, I hope soft modding this thing is as easy as the regular xbox, i did it when i had my xbox, not sure about this one, i guess i'll have to go do some readings.

If that's the case then this isn't really news. As far as I know the completion (as you describe it to be) happened some time ago and it has been beta-tested for a while now, or am I wrong about that one?

Either way, yes, I'd love to test it out and no I wouldn't really care if i got banned. Been playing on my other Xbox 360, with a Hitachi 47 (with one of the first xtreme firmwares) for a long long time now and I'm not banned yet. Even if were to be banned, as I said, I wouldn't care to much.

So I ask again, and I ask the person who started this "rumour" of the "Benq firmware" gold status, any releasedate or a hint?

Would be much appreciated and C4E, keep up the good work, much respect for everything you do.

Thanks.

THATS GREAT !!!!
THANKS C4E!!!

But just one question...If you already have a benq, like in the newer premiums, and you flash it with the ixtreme, do you get detected?

Greetz,

I agree. It was a valid Question to ask.

C4eva has finished the fw awhile ago and rolled it out for beta testing last weekend and everything seems ok. I think he will want to wait until after the Fall update which is what 1-2 weeks away maybe? He could techincally release it now and there is a good chance that it will be ok.

My question is will it be detectable if you flash after you have installed the Fall update in which case they need to release it now or before hand.

If not but i am sure alot of people are going to hold off updating to the Fall update until some of the testers have confirmed it is all safe.

Remember when the May update hit and after 2 weeks alot of people were getting banned because of unstealthed games.

yeah that sucked luckilly when that update came around i had taken a break from my 360 so i unplugged the net when playing my backup versions and just stuck in my original version of it when I wanted to play online. Ruined my original GOW disc I hate using original discs as the 360 likes to make its mark LITERALLY. Anyways I badly want my drive flashed as my Halo 3 disc colelctors came scratched so I want to send it back to Ms for a new disc but of course I cannot play it then for a couple of weeks.
