OK well I stand corrected then.

I thought this will nod be released until the fall update?

However sooner the better. I have 3 benq drives laying around for me to test with.

There are hints of a release today......... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

How good is the BenQ drive with backup media? Is it picky with cheaper media?

Is it better than the Samsung? Has c4eva or any beta testers made any comments regarding this?

Benq seems to read even the crappiest of the Dual Layer Disks very well and fast. No hickups like the Hitachi
Drives, A step above the Samsung for sure.

From what I understand it is about the same as Samsung.

That would be great! However, I understand C4ever wanted the FW to be "fall update proof" so we were all thinking about a post fall update release.

I dont get you what is with the hostility there is no god damn need I asked a ddamn question and you have to act childish dont you? well you continue to do so your the only one who looks like a fool here and only you can't see it. With comments like that I do have to ask how old you really are? me personally i'm married with kids and I act like an adult but TBH i'm no longer gonna talk on this subject with you as your not worth talking to and personally if a member on my forums insulted a member like you did they would be banned for at least 2 days your just lucky the mods here are laid back.

Or not so lucky....

He needed a cooldown period.

I dont get why people keep saying this. My benq's are just as noisy, if not more noisy than my ms28. Perhaps the fw we are testing is hardcoded to 12x, but i thought it was same speeds as retail FW. There will be a 'slow' version released within the package as per usual.

Yeah i agree, the BenQ drive for me is just as noisy as my Samsung TS-H943 MS28. I think i will play around with both versions of the BenQ fw as it would be nice to have it quiet.

12X on any DVD drive i heard is quite noisy so really i think it is the rotation speed of the disc unless they padded the inner casing more to keep the noise dow...anyway

Hope it gets released tonight though ill be testing it after work tomorrow as i am off to bed smile.gif

I REALLY hope this gets released tonight. Even if the fall update messed with the new FW, would it not mess with all the iExtreme FWs of the same type for all the other drives? So the same changes would theoretically need to made to the rest of the versions to correct any *POSSIBLE* problems. Oh well, I wait patiently...
