DosFlash V1.3 Beta - Full Software Based BenQ Flashing
« Reply #60 on: October 22, 2007, 04:45:00 PM »

Hey guys if you don't have USB boot here goes a meathod that worked for me.

Make a FAT32 partition (I made mine 1gb) on your hard drive

Copy dosflash16 onto your FAT32 partition

Boot up with a windows 98 floppy and make your way into your FAT32 partition (it should be the C: drive if windows is on an NTFS file system)

and read/write/flash as usual.

Thanks again everyone for the tips.  Worked great using DosFlash.  Could not get it to work using DosFlash32.  It would always lockup the PC until I powered the drive off then windows would start working again.  Anyways, worked first time in dos.  The key read fine in firmware toolbox 4.5

Much appreciated.

Ok got DosFlash32 to work. I had to uninstall my virtual drives and then the program found the drive. Weird but hey it worked....so if anyone else is having this issue try uninstalling your virtual drives.

What exactly must do with my intel ich5 sata controller chipser to work the read/write with dosflash32? And i want to do it with dosflash 1.3 32 because i don't know what number i put in the dosflash 1.3 16 for my benq drive i have.
Finally with this sata chipset ich5 it can't work without soldering the benq drives?
If there is a quide with pics to help up for how to read/write(flash) the benq drives please upload it.

A lot of thangs.

You cannot dump without either soldering a switch, or using a VIA card (in dos) with your chipset.

And to the other posters, if you had success please mention what chipset you have, and if you used a VIA card.

Because - those are all of the chipsets supported by the application, for both the VCC and the solderless method.

Only the noted nForce and VIA chipsets are currently working with for the non-VCC/soldering method.

Edit:
It would not let me edit.  I used a SY-VIA-150 with the Via 6421 chipset.

I did have to disconnect my other drives to get it working in Dos.  Also make sure the port your using is correct.  If your not sure, run iPrep and look at what port your card is set to.

I also had to add the 0 at the end of the comand or it would tell me the command was incorrect.

Hope this helps you.
