Ixtreme Flashed But Wont Boot Stealth Backups.
« on: February 04, 2020, 07:53:00 AM »

Hello,

I flashed an xbox 360 with the latest ixtreme 1.2 firmware. But it wont boot perfectly stealth backups. I tried the backups in another box with the exact same firmware and it loaded them perfectly, so the backups are not the problem. I reflashed the drive twice and dubble checked(by dumping the firmware) that the ixtreme firmware was in place on the drive.

The console boots originals perfectly. The system has a hitachi 47 drive. Do you have any suggestions on what could be the problem? (the system that did boot the games is a hitachi 78)

Thanks,

Martin

What media are you using? If cheap stuff that that is your problem right there. you can try adjusting the pot on drive which will shorten the life of the drive as well. USE VERBATIM.

i'm going to agree on this one. the fact that originals are booting ok means that your drive key is fine. the fact that it works on a friends system means the backup is ok (assuming your friend is running ixtreme and not an old xtreme firmware). so the media is the next place to look. just out of curiousity, what error are you getting from your backups? DDE? open tray?

i actually had the same problem guy, what i THINK it is, is that for ixtreme with a hitachi drive, if you remember when the regular xtreme fw came out, u had 2 have a specific cd burner and have the booktype set with dvdinfo pro, im going 2 try it when i get home cuz i modded my friends 360, and none of the backups i am trying are working, i have a samsung with ixtreme and they work perfectly fine, so i dont know, ima try it and get on later ill let u know the deal...

i don't do that with any of my backups, ixtreme 1.2, on a hitachi. my backups work great with the exception of the occasional open tray error.

hitachis are more picky with media than sammys. Sammys will play pretty much any crap you put in it. hitachis from what ive seen even with verbatims if you burn at 8x some dont even work. I burn all mine at 4x and verbatims to avoid any problems.

The other drive was indeed ixtreme. I get "unreadeble disk" with about 50% of backups, and opentray with the other 50%. This is with both verbatim media and some brandless discs. The errortype doesnt seem related to the brand of the media: both brands give both errors, depending on the backup.

Could something else be the problem?

there is nothing to help with its the media and your burn speed. other than burning slowing you can trying the pot calibration. if you dont belive us why dont you try the search option and see all the other posts with the same problem. if in question USE SEARCH (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
