I have a new Benq Drive in my new xbox 360, I tryed Method 2 for reading my dvd key but i messed up Really bad, I riped a leg off the MX25 chip and the trace that goes to the large flat chip.
I also tryed to expose the rest of the MX25 chips leg by scrapeing it with a razor, I found some metal and i put a wire from there to the trace the leg went to.
I never had such crap happen to me EVER. I soldier mod chips, electronics, and alot of wires but i just kept messing this thing up.
I get a E64 Err when booting xbox.

If there is someone that can just atleast get the f\w key off it i will buy a new drive and put the key in it.
Please post here if you can do this. Chance for you to make money.

I wish they would take that method 2 off the tutorial. Method 1 is so easy and strait forward there is no reason to attempt method 3.

Send the whole thing back to MS - they WILL replace it (at least in the UK/Europe they will) and then u can start all over again  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

So in the EU one can open a 360, cut it up, solder, pull up traces, tear up chips, and still return it for repair?  I have a hard time believing Microsoft or anyone else would accept something like that under warranty.
