Benq Can Be Read Without Soldering!
« on: October 14, 2007, 06:09:00 PM »

Reports over at XBHacker indicate that Schtrom has a new DOSFlash 1.6 beta he's given to a few friends for testing, and it will read/write without modding the traces.  At least one person has confirmed they tested it and it works as advertised.

There's also word that C4Eva is planning to begin beta testing the BenQ iXtreme next weekend.

Keep your fingers crossed!

Still no proof however. Great news if true, but I'm waiting for Schtrom to post about it before I believe it.

Dont start a topic based off of pure speculation.  One person has stated this and it was not schtrom himself.  Once it is posted by him and confirmed, then start jumping.

I too hope that this is the case but no need to get people worked up just yet.

Redline has confirmed to me that there is a partially working beta. I will know more info soon as to reliability.

Glad to see my thread unlocked.

I was wrong about the version of DOSFlash, it's 1.3 private beta.

That would be great. Hope it comes out same time a hacked firmware is released.

Actually the cutting and switch install has become so easy I have gotten it down to only taking about 5 minutes to solder, extract, and bridge the traces on the benq.

Yes, it is confirmed.

Special thanks to Schtrom and jumba for the excellent work!!!

I would expect to see the new dosflash version included with the BenQ firmware when it is released.

Amazing!
