Inserted Dvd Power Cable In Backwards

on the motheboard I broke the tab for the power cable for the dvd drive and I didn't relize I inserted the power cable in backwards. Now the drive doesn't do anything, but the 360 powers up and I can play the online games but that it. Any way to fix this???

Take it to a reliable PC repair shop and ask them if they can fix it.

Your normal PC repair shop won't have a clue.  You'll need a specialist to have any hope of salvaging it.  Assuming you have a firmware backup, you're much better off getting a replacement off of eBay.

Agreed.  You probably applied 12V to a 3V component, possibly the controller for the drive.  This will fry that lead/component and it'll need to be replaced.  If you have the firmware, you're probably better getting a new drive.  If you dont, try dumping the firmware - it may still function enough to do so.  If not, send it to someone with a programmer to salvage it.
