Headache Ms25
« on: October 13, 2007, 03:30:00 PM »

i flashed a ms28 fine then i went to flash a ms25 and i setup using xtreme boot maker i thought i unchecked the boxes almost sure i did i got the orig.bin the ran the ixtreme firmware maker and i got a drive version do not match with the list ms25 and the "key" and the ms28 and the "key" the keys are the same and when i open the orig.bin key with 360 firmware tool box it list it as a ms25 and when i open the regular un key changed ixtreme it list it as a ms28 and the firmware it makes is listed as a ms-28 so i made my own with the toolbox and flashed it but it still reads ms28 and now the drive doesnt work and i cant get my computer to read it what do i do

If you want thoughtful answers, pose thoughtful questions.  I got 1/3 of the way through your retarded-English, grammar-challenged, run-on post and gave up.

here let me brake it down to you. Basicly what im seeing is that when i bring up the ixtreme 1.2 rev c firmware it says ms28 even when i apply the new key from the ms25. ixtreme firmware maker gives me a drives are different error. Why will doesnt it change to ms25 in firmware toolbox? the orignal firmware shows up as a ms25. when i try the bad flash recovery i get status 50 needs to be 70. and i cant get it to flash. if this doesnt make better sense then i suck at life

Through all your posts,i can barely get an idea.
You have a ms25 and you wanted to flash it.You got the orig.bin and you're trying to flash the hacked.bin now.
The question is what chipset are you using to flash and if you ever flashed that ms25 before?
Ixtreme 1.2 revC doesn't convert your ms25 firmware into a ms28 firmware. That firmware pack is based on ms28.Therefore,if you use ms25 firmware,it simply indicates that the firmware version is not ms28.However,it doesn't turn it into ms28 firmware.Just open the new hacked.bin with maximus firmware toolbox 4.x and tell us what version it indicates.

the hacked firmware indicated a ms28 i fixed the problem with the 0800 disk i got it back to normal thank god. Why didnt it work i did a ms25 before and it worked perfect with the same firmware. the only difference was i used SAM to make the firmware not the  ixtreme firmware maker could that be the problem

It doesnt matter.  What myfranco said is that iXtreme/Xtreme is based off of ms28 firmware anyways.  When you ran the make firmware command, you probably didnt type 'Y' to spoof your version strings when prompted.  If you did, your firmware would have said ms25 instead of ms28 when opened with 360FWTB.

Either way, it should be fine stating that it is a ms28.  Typically, upgrading is fine.  Its when you downgrade your drive version that E66 occurs.
