I Have A Flashed Drive And An Unflashed Drive. Swap Possible?

So I had a working Hitachi 47dj flashed drive, and then the xbox bit the dust, so I took the drive out and bought a new 360. It is currently using a 78 Hitachi. I tried swapping the drives, but no backups would play. Is it possible to perhaps make this work? It looks like the 78 requires some extra steps that I don't look foward to right now. I thought I see that you need to get drive key from the original, and replace it with the modded drive. Has anyone gone through this type of procedure before?
