Ms28 Spoofed As 78fk Drive Question
« on: October 09, 2007, 06:59:00 AM »

Hello Board

Ok so what I'm trying to do is replace my 78fk drive with a ms28 drive and not having a great time here.  I have followed this link How To Replace By A Samsung Drive and have verified my drive key and confirmed that it is spoofed as seen here (IMG:http://home.cogeco.ca/~vwvr6/junks1.JPG) Also thinking that it was my definitions for my boot disk I also updated those with what was suggested in the link and also ixdef, and the definitions that came with the firmware, iXtreme_Samsung_v1.2 revC.

So then I do the following

1. connect xbox 360 to pc.
2. Turn on both
3. The box gets detect (1 primary Ixtreme) and select it.
4. power off the xbox 360, count to 10
5. Turn it on ( and you think it will flash?!?!?!?!) OH nons!

It just hangs there... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/uhh.gif)  Usually there it will flash the four banks. So this is where I am stuck. Did I miss something? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

probably it already has an Xtreme firmware on it. try using the Enable0800 DVD to enable read/write routine.

This is correct, it does have an extreme firmware on it, (Ixtreme1.2 Fast).  I never heard of this enable0800 DVD. How do I use this program and whats the purpose?  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/uhh.gif)

Thanks for the reply.

Kind regards

Read the upgrading section of this tutorial. How did you flash your drive the first time?  With a VIA chipset?  If so, you should be able to use the bad flash method to do so.

If you got your drive flashed for you and dont have a VIA chipset, you need to use the enable0800 disc, as pyter stated, to disable firmguard and enable reading/writing of the firmware.  This is explained in the above linked tutorial.

Yes I flashed it with a VIA chipset. Not to sure what serial number I would user since this is a replacement drive for the current box that I swapping into another box. Thanks for the replies. I will post a update when I get a chance to do it.
