Ms28 No Reading Games

I helped out a friend with a MS28 drive, flashed and it worked with backup.  It worked with backups for a while and now, he hasnt been able to boot any backups at all.  Have there been similar cases like this?  Im going to try and reflash and see what happens.  

Any input is appreciated!
