Ts-h943 - Burned Lens Or Other Problem?
« on: October 07, 2007, 12:42:00 PM »

I was playing a game yesterday and suddenly it crashed and went back to the dashboard. I tried to restart the game but it kept booting me to dashboard. Every game was working before sinds xbox 360 launch with a TS drive.

So I wanted to take out the disc, but the drawer did not open. Now it's opening again but it doesn't read dvd's. It's reading cd's but not dvd's. So I looked up my problem and I read the tutorial from Moda.

My dvdplayer had 4.12 ohm so I reduced it to 3.41, 3.08 and even 2.92 ohm. It makes no difference. Everytime I turn on my xbox 360 it's not spinning the disc. Only for 1 second and then it's making noizes, it keeps repeating this around 8 times or something and then it's suggesting to open the drawer.

Just now for one time it was spinning the disc and even playing it, but now it doesn't again.

So I read about changing lasers, but will it solve my problem? Is it possible that if you have a burned lens that it's not even spinning the disc?

Hopefully someone recognizes this problem and can confirm if something in my dvdromplayer is not functioning or if it's a burned lens. I don't have a lot of money and I can only spend it once.

BTW I do see the red dot shine on the disc when there is no cover above it. I don't know if that means something.

Sounds like your lazser took a crap is all laser uses two different fields that why the cds still work. Buy a new laser and move on.

Tweaking the pot that much is probably what killed (or help kill lol) the laser. Like ^ said, just swap the laser's out and you should be good to go (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
