Its not really necessary (just realized this after testing) but I made a low level account on my machine named xbox and made its password xbox (obviously my password is a bit different than that). I then shared out my relevant folders and put this in my neogenesis.ini:
LOCAL_IP=192.168.1.101 *Xbox's IP
SUBNET_MASK=255.255.255.0
GATEWAY_IP=192.168.1.1 *My router's IP, is probably necessary for netplay
smbshare=smb://xbox:
[email protected]/Gaming/Emulation/Console/Sega Genesis/Roms/ *account:accountpassord@PC IP/Share name
smb_nameserver=192.168.1.100 *Pc IP
If you don't want to make that account, you can skip that part and do this:
LOCAL_IP=192.168.1.101 *Xbox's IP
SUBNET_MASK=255.255.255.0
GATEWAY_IP=192.168.1.1 *My router's IP, is probably necessary for netplay
smbshare=smb://192.168.1.100/Gaming/Emulation/Console/Sega Genesis/Roms/ *PC IP/Share name
smb_nameserver=192.168.1.100 *Pc IP
Basically its the same thing minus the account name and password. The way I figured all this out is I realized its exactly the same thing as XBMC. I use my IP address and share names to setup smb shares on it, so this is really no different, just a few extra parameters. Hope that helps people.
**PS don't forget, if you have a rom folder mapped out that your Emu starts off in, you have to press Y a few times to go back to the root drive selection. You'll then see all of your xbox partitions and SMB:\ at the bottom. Select it and if everything is setup correctly, it'll jump right into your share.
