Helping My Fellow Xs'ers
« on: October 06, 2007, 01:11:00 AM »

If you're having problems obtaining the firmware and subsequent key from your problematic Hitachi drive, then to help you out I'm offering my services to remove the tsop flash chip from the pcb and read it in the Willem programmer I have, for free.

Although I'm offering my services for free, I'm not prepared to reattach the chip back to the pcb. If you want it reattached then service is no longer free.

With the firmware read off the chip you can then purchase a samsung from somewhere else and flash it yourself.

All you need to do is carefully remove the pcb from the drive, stick it in a jiffy bag and post it recorded to me and I'll do the rest. If you want the pcb back you pay for retun postage. You can send the complete drive if you wish but return postage will cost more.

This is open to anyone, just PM me for contact details.

I'm near to Glasgow in the UK.
