Same bug and glitch on many games example ( top gear 2000 - mickey mania in mode 7 - lamborghini - star war return of jedi in mode 7 ) etc.....for me nothing change to the 1.3 or 1.4 for the bug and glitsch..at this time Xsnes9x as no bug..Then sorry but at this time I do not see improvement with regard to this version except the options. No I tried all the options and nothing changes to eliminate this bugs sad.gif
Take him not bad nes6502 it is only a subject of discution OK

but keep the good work nes6502

Let's look at this ANOTHER WAY

Zsnexbox is not a general port of Zsnes. It's not updated along with the Linux, Windows or DOS ports. It's not regularly worked on by the Zsnes team. Zsnexbox is currently a port of Zsnes W.I.P. 2-28-05. That's it. The bugs that you've been reporting didn't leave because they are a part of Zsnes W.I.P. 2-28-05. Don't believe me? Go download that for your operating system and see if those same bugs are there? When you first came here and made a thread about Mickey Mania having the problem during the moose chase and I tested it and told you it was the core, I tested it on Windows, not on Zsnexbox. Now, what does that mean for you? These bugs and glitches that are present on Zsnexbox are a GOOD THING. Unless you've found glitches that are not part of the PC versions of Zsnes W.I.P. 2-28-05, which is the kind of thing that actually needs to be reported, that means Zsnexbox is running Zsnes W.I.P. 2-28-05 EXACTLY like it should be. Between 1.3+ and above along with 1.2 and below (which used a different core) I don't know if there have been any game specific bugs that have been a result of the ports being faulty. That should give you the confidence that with these perfect ports plus someone who is devoted and talented as nes6502 to their work and  knowing that multiple-core or standalone version of Zsnexbox are on their to do list (meaning Zsnexbox will become a port of the best of Zsnes cores and not just of Zsnes W.I.P. 2-28-05) that someday Zsnexbox will be the Snes experience. Personally, not just of Xbox but of emulation in general.

I'm really not trying to sound harsh to you or anything. What I'm really trying to do is ease your mind and know that, these bugs are expected, known and suppose to be there right now. Things are running smooth in the core department. Things are as they should be. You mention these things over and over again and now I hope you won't have to because I hope you understand what's going on a little better. What would be good to report on are things that don't match up between the pc version of Zsnes W.I.P. 2-28-05 and Zsnexbox, problems with features not working and other gui bugs. Those are the things that nes6502 will need to know.

yes yes its a great release nice job nes6502...but just for the infos same bug on the 1.3 and 1.4....And New Graphics Engine in Enabled ok its for this bug because nothing change with this option?

I have not tested this out on Zsnexbox but go to donkey kong country 2 and turn it on and off. I think the the front game menu shouldn't show on the old graphics engine. Don't quote me on this.

Sort of right, it doesn't highlight your selections with it off.

-Analog stick deadzone calibration! Global!

-The initial ROM directory can be changed in the RomPath.ini.
-Various speedups
-I also included the default.xbe (in the just_for_fun folder) that I had when I made the first post announcing ZsnexBox. I thought some people might like to see what I had and compare it to what it is now. I disabled the debug output for this build. Put a game in the folder and name it "rm.zip". This folder can be deleted if not wanted.

Whoa what a list of tweaks!
This is a brand new port, and yet progressing at the speed of light. Not a single reasonable person could be unimpressed. Zsnexbox plays a few games that Xsnes9x doesn't and Xsnes9x plays a few that zsnexbox doesn't. Zsnexbox is my new favorite though.

Because it seems like you are building this port as perfect as possible, what do you think of some of these things

*Implimenting the cool rumble idea you devised earlier, with the option to turn it on/off independant of the code, and a master rumble toggle for each game.

*Expanding the cheat menu into
Game Genie Codes
Pro Action Replay Codes
Search
View Search Results (Press A to Add to Codes)
Browse Codes

*Implimenting the zsnes 'search' tool fully, broken into selection stages like so
-------------
What Size Search? **Try smaller first**
1 Byte  0..255
2 Bytes 0..65535
3 Bytes 0..16777215
4 Bytes 0..4292967295
-------------
How do you believe your value is stored?
-Dec (Represented through the dec value of the hex) **Best Bet**
-Hex (represented directly in the hex) **Less Common**
-------------
What type of Search?
-Exact Value
-Comparison
-------------
You chose Exact Value:
Enter the current value {.....} of the element you'd like to cheat/change
Ex: If you want to cheat bullets and you have 45 bullets, type 45.
Return to game, change the value somehow, (get hit, fire off your gun, gain exp) enter the new value, to narrow the search. Narrow it down to 1 or 2, then test your code. Make your own codes!
-------------
You chose Comparison:
All values in the game are being tracked. Return to the game. Find something you want to cheat/change but don't know the exact value, (Health Bar, Type of Ammo, etc) and let it increase, decrease or change. Return to the search menu and tell wether it increased, decreased, changed or stayed the same. Narrow the search results this way until you find your code. Explosions! Enjoy!
-------------
Thus allowing tinkerers to use the full zsnes search tool, which is the best of its kind on any emu.

*Could pull up a virtual numpad for big numbers / exact value searches

*Is there an option to disable custom soundtracks?

*Option to disable "take screenshot" to avoid overwriting box art

Really those are all that I can think of that would make it better than it already is. The new layout looks great.

Hi Nes6502..

Great work, looks great, sounds great....

One little thing I've noticed (and it's a bit annoying), once you save a screenshot part of it sits at the top left of the screen until you exit the game and reload it or another game. I'm using the default display mode and don't have the ability to swap to the nice modes due to it being an old Phillips monitor 8833 (superb in their day)

Thanks for the hard work you have done so far, please keep it up :-)

Btw, a full cheat maker would be nice :-)

Open my eyes and ears?

You don't think I'm aware of all the errors you posted? Do you think I'm not fixing them on purpose?

I try to add features that people request if they are reasonable and possible. Other than TG3000, none of the issues are my fault. Nearly all your requests are impossible for me to fix. Please use xSnes9x.

Please stop hammering my threads with the same posts over and over and over. Once is enough.

ahhh! This is a very kick ass release! I especially like the selection of sound choices you've added. I remember trying your first 2 release, and doing mario's spin jump to crush turtles, the sfx sounded to me a bit muffled. I just tried your 1.6 release, and now it sounds awesome! There are still some sound issues with certain games, *particulary Contra III* The weapon noises are painful to listen to, actually, any type of sfx in that game is painful. If it's something that can be possibly fixed, may I suggest to take a listen to the game running in Xsnes9x?

So far, I only have 1 request, which I believe is possible to implement. When you exit a game, you start off in the menu at whatever game you picked, I love that. The only thing is, when you want to get out of that particular folder, you have to scroll all the way back up *this is time consuming for us complete romset users* Is there a way to have an *xport emu style* of pushing a button, that takes you directly to the beginning of whatever folder your in? It would be greatly appreciated if this could be another added feature!

Thank you for your wonderful work! You've just taken away more free time that I had, due to this emulator! Thank You :-)

I agree!
A "top directory/back one directory" could be great!
When I am inside the big S letter directory... right there on the bottom, I
need to manually scroll all waaaay up to be able to switch to other letter folder.

It's not a important feature, but it could be a neat one if implemented!
(c:

And I am still waiting for the 1.5 or 1.6 version...
My 'usual pleaces' do not have them yet!

Regards,
Cospefogo.

Trust me, the Contra III sounds are much more accurate and nearly (if not) perfect in ZsnexBox as compared to a real SNES.

Snes9x is not a good tool to measure SNES sound accuracy. ZSNES is better and BSNES is the best. Compare how Contra 3 sounds in BSNES and xSnes9x if you don't have an SNES and Contra 3.

The last accessed ROM directory is not a feature of this release.

The in game SNES audio is not saved intentionally. I realise that most users of this port are advanced, but I have to keep the non-advanced user in mind. I don't want someone to accidentally lower the vollume to 0 and it be saved forever. I don't care if this happens for the GUI, but I do for the in game emulation.

Great job on this, you're almost there to perfection!  I really really wanna see your rumble setup implemented with this.  I've made quite a few rumble setups for NES when Xport implemented it, and I'm impatiently waiting for another port to contain it.  It is easily one of the coolest ways to add  "new" features to a classic game.  Besides, I know we all want to play some Mario Kart with rumble  biggrin.gif

Well, maybe it's just me, but the Contra 3 spread gun in ZSNES sounds much better than Snes9x. Oh well.
