Does Beeing Banned Provent You From Buying Stuff From The Marketplace?

Even if your xbox live account get banned, can you still buy stuff from the market place? with a silver account for example? or is the whole xbox banned?

You will not be able to access your Live account from a banned 360, Silver or Gold.
