Ixtreme Versions.
« on: August 21, 2007, 06:50:00 PM »

After searching for a few hours I am still unable to find a solid answer to this question. Which version of the firmware is the latest for the hitachi drive. The toolbox has both a 1.2 and a 1.7 for the 78 drive. The impression that I get is that the 1.2 is the newest, but logically that seems backwards. Please help me out. Also, which versions are known to brick your 360 from live? I currently have my drive flashed with 1.7 but im not sure if I need to restore and reflash to the other version.

Thanks

Commodore4Eva iXtreme Hitachi-LG v1.2 rev2 (FW package we currently recommend for this drive)

Hitachi drives should be restored to original then flashed with latest firmware of your choice. Guides are available on this subject throughout the forum.

while it does seem counter intuitive, the 1.2 is the ixtreme 1.2 firmware, and the other is the xtreme 1.7 firmware.

xtreme 1.7 is an old firmware that doesn't support media stealth and will get you banned from live. use the ixtreme firmware.
