nes6502, can you give us a short list of what we can expect from your next release such as what's been implemented and core changes? Thankies in Advance!  happy.gif

The core will either be 2-28-05 or 1.42. Probablly 1.42 but I keep going back and forth. More options and filters will be added. The core change will fix tons of games that were unplayable in the current version. It will also fix lots of graphics bugs as well. However, the downside is that the sound is not as good as the newest code in some games. However, stability is better than more accurate sound.

Can we look forward to a version that has the quality sound with graphical accuracy and stability as well?

Also, if you like, I can "donate" you an AOL screen name from my AOL account. You can upload up to 20 MB at a time. Let me know.

Well, before I was abruptly interrupted by the forums going offline, I was replying, listing free web servers that'd host your file(s). Here are a few free web servers:

Sendspace
Yousendit
Rapidshare
Megaupload

Well,

I must confess that after the little chat I had with Chron
and other guys here in this topic, I became the happiest guy
about emulators on Xbox.

Just update my versions to the new Xport releases,
and also Mame128 and FBA-XXX Pro. ALL of them
have the wonderful and marvelous FLICKERING FILTER
option!!

Now I can get the real "sharpen and pixelated" screens
like a real Famicom, Super Famicom, Arcade.
No BLUR at all.

So, dear nes6502, I wonder if do you plan to have
this option on the video configurations in the future?
I will love to play SNES on a native sharpen screen resolution...

Long live to the Flickering Filter!

The flickering filter is set to off in the current version. It is already as sharp as it could be.

IMHO you'd have to be out of your mind to use anything other than 1, but it is nice to have a choice.

However, the next version will allow setting the value from 0 - 5.

That would be because you sir, are the man. Hopefully this will also include Simple2x smile.gif

Is the sound going to be a lot worse? What should we expect? The sound in the version out now is AMAZING.

Just compare the 2-28-05 version with the 3-19-06 version.  I havn't noticed a lot of sound differences. But a few.

I havn't noticed any differences in FF3. I noticed some in Super mario RPG and Final Fight. However, in general everything sounds the same. It's more isolated cases.

The Starfox sound was due to the incorrect frequency being used. If the user selects a frequency other than 32000 then it will make that sound, otherwise it will sound correct.

Thanks so much for all your hard work. Will we have the choices of drawing in the next zsnexbox? Like bilinear, trilinear, etc?

Do you want to take me up on that AOL email address offer?

Do you mean picking Point, Linear filtering, etc? If so, then yes. I will likely get the total size under 10mb so I think hotmail will still work. Thanks for the offer anyway.

Why don't you use sendspace? Upload your emulator on it's server, and email the assigned url link when it's done uploading to xbins's owner? Just a suggestion.

I don't see a way to figure out what dates correspond with version numbers. What two version numbers should I try side by side?

3-29-06

2-28-05

All the versions are listed by date at http://zsnes.ipherswipsite.com/

Thanks nes6502!
You are right! The sharpness of ZsnesXbox looks great at the moment.

If you take a look on the topics main list you will notice that I am doing very
sucessful tests with flicker options and screen sizes. The riddle is already solved
on MednX Nes, MednaX PCE and NeoGenesis. It remains only MekaX.

And, Mame128 and FBA XXX Pro look fantastic too.
My only complain is that FBA XXX Pro do not run the classic roms like
Shinobi, ShadowDancer, Raiden, BadDudes, Golden Axe and so on.

I am anxiously looking forward for new versions of ZsnesXbox!
Keep up the good work!

can anybody tell me why none of my controllers works with Zsnes 1.2? Games load fine, but button presses are ignored by the emulator...

Wow, this is an awesome emulator! love.gif

Here are some more requests:
- Option to resize the screen. The current size is not optimal. See this topic. Each snes line must match a tv line for the best display. If you hardcode the correct size (instead of a resize option) in your next release i would be very happy too.
Hmmm, looks like it's already implemented *slaps forehead*. However, i don't use the resize option to fill my tv screen. I use it to match each snes line to a tv line, see this topic. This will give the best picture. But that is really hard to do with the current resize screen because it's black. I need some reference picture for it. Stretch numbers would be very nice too (x&y size and x&y offset).
- AdMame2X software filter. It's really fast and it looks incredibly sharp and nice on a normal tv imho. (i wouldn't mind if you implement HQ2X instead of AdMame2X when HQ2X runs at 60fps though).

Keep up the grrrrreat work! beerchug.gif
