Thanks for including Save folders in with the xbe and not E:Tdata as it means i can disable the states by either deleting or renaming them.I really am amazed that this isn't thought of when people write emulators in the first place - i see little point in writing such great emulation if the whole experience can be ruined by this handy but intrusive feature that simply doesn't capture any authenticty of playing a real machine. We need save states for various reasons but being able to disable them is fantastic.

Great work nes6502

Why can't you do the same if they are in E:\TDATA\?

Everything seems to be working great except the for controls...To install the mod all i did was drag the folder in the .zip into me E/emu folder. Do i need to set anything for the controls to work? Im using the xbmc dashboard

A softmaod is able to run everything that a hardmodded box can run... If done correctly...

I really want the directory support!!!!

I have the whole rom set of SNES and there is like 10,000+ roms.... because of the fileing system limitations you are only able to have 4096 files in 1 dir...

It would be cool to see the complete SNES rom set inside one emu install.... biggrin.gif  biggrin.gif  biggrin.gif  biggrin.gif  biggrin.gif  biggrin.gif  biggrin.gif

Just wanted to reply that I finally got a chance to play it and I am incredibly impressed. The sound is already 45,000x better than xsnes9x. I can't wait to see what you come up with next.

I did notice the sound was a bit glitchy/poppy in Super Mario RPG and there was a bit of slowdown but to be honest I'm surprised the game worked at all so early. Incredible job. I also can't understand why anyone would use anything other than Simple2x as a  screen filter. The whole point of those screen filters was so when played on a PC the jagged edges were less noticable. Now that they are on a TV, simple2x with a flicker fliter setting option would look identical to a real SNES. But it's nice to have the option for people, I guess.

Two small suggestions: When you go back to the menu to mess with settings, there is no way to resume your game, I have to select the rom again and start over. I am sure that is just something under way. Second, the screen collaboration is nice, but I prefer being able to choose a game, then go to the screen collaboration so I can see how the games will look, rather than relying on a blue and red box. I guess the blue and red box would be good if you choose screen collab without having a rom loaded. If a rom is loaded and you go to collab the screen, the game should be shown. Just a suggestion, all the XPort systems do that and I love it.

Really awesome work man. I hope there's a way us SNES fans can repay you!

I've too noticed that on some games, that there was some slowdowns; even though the framerate did'nt drop once. One Game that comes to mind, is  Terranigma, the pal version 50/50.

Anywho, is it just me, or does the sound for games using this emulator seem lower than when playing roms through Xsnes9x IPB Image

Could you please, please include SMB Support?

That would be the most valuable feature for me since xsnes9x does also not support it. So I have my SNES roms lying on PC and XBOX instead of streaming them like I do with the XPORT Emus.

There's nothing I can do about that because its an issue with Zsnes.

HQ2X looks slightly better than Super 2xSai but the difference is more apparent on a HDTV as they can resolve finer detail.

HQ4X blows them all away but is an impossibility due to the CPU power of the Xbox.

Nevermind, I haven't been able to recreate it, so maybe it was my imagination. But the music does seem like it has a few crackles in the background. Again, maybe it's just me.

However, I have gotten the game to freeze twice on me. Both times EXACTLY when punching a turtle. The game freezes though, not the emulator. Strange. Both times I had surround sound on so maybe that did it.

just found the time to test your port and have to say GREAT WORK!!

but i noticed this:
on my pal xbox in pal60, pal games (like DKC, or aladdin) have "stuttering" scrolling.  ntsc games run fine.
if i change it to pal50 in the MS dash, the pal games run fluently. but ntsc games are now too slow. wink.gif

i think snesx switched automatically!?

but still great port. smile.gif

A PAL video mode switch will be added

Will this help games like Terranigma run on NTSC XBoxes at the right speed?

If not, no big deal. There is a program for SNES roms that can force the game to be NTSC which should fix this problem. Terranigma is pretty much the ONLY game released in Europe that wasn't released here.

There's a Terranigma PAL --> NTSC patch at Zophar's that will fix this issue for you.

Here is a graphical glitch I noticed. I remember this happening in older versions of older SNES emulators.

In Final Fantasy 3, the part where you use magic with Terra and Edgar and Locke in your party right in the beginning after Figaro is burned by Kefka, Edgar and Locke run off screen. You can see a garbled version of their sprites over the text box window however.

If you would like a save state or sram of that part I can do it, but it's VERY early in the game. Using fast forward it might take 5 minutes to get it.

Why can't you do the same if they are in E:\TDATA\?

Snes9x is a problem this way in that if you delete the folder in E:Tdata , it recreates it and of course you need the folder to be there for the sram should you want to continue with saving to the cart(all save data in the same folder). There isn't a way around this because the saves folder is always going to be there unless you actually move E:Tdata folder out temporarily and that means there is also no folder for the sram.

Zsnex has seperate non regenerating folders meaning of course that they can be placed anywhere , so certainly you can have saves for Zsnex in E:Tdata if like me you don't always want save states.
