Toolbox does a lot of things, most are pretty seft explanitory.... Is there anything in particular you would like to achieve......

The basics are covered in Textbook tutorial in the sections for the 78 and 79, i.e. Dumping, Flashing, hacking, Spoofing, encrypting, decyrypting (obfuscating, deobfuscating), changing Keys etc....

The recovery process is pretty straight forward and I agree it is not documented and I only figured it out by accident.... This process basically dumps your drive and gets the relevant data like AES key, serial number etc and then inserts them into a virgin stock firmware... These firmwares are included with the package in the \orig_fw folder... It then saves that file as your "Recovered" orig.bin....

If you then use the

>Tools>Direct Flash Drive>Differential Patch(Restore)

You can restore the drive...

BTW I figured this out while trying to restore a 79 with a friend, you will see that for the 78 there are 4 flavours for the different key locations... however the package is missing 2 of the 79 files and I needed one of those, if gave an error saying that I needed a virgin firmware in the \orig_fw folder..... When I got a file from someone, and put it in the folder it worked....

It will if it's not spoofed. However, if you leave the tray open and then power on it should go into mode B, just pull the plug with the tray open......

i had a 78fk and i had afew problems with it. i think i corrupted something. if that happens then you have to go to someone that owns chip programmer to unsolder the chip , then erase , then re-programm chip with new ixtreme 1.4. then re-solder to pcb board.

also try on different pc 's . better with windows xp . older pc , the better i my opinion.
best way to get into mode(cool.gif is the wire trick (if  ......you know what your doing).

good luck  wink.gif
