Update:

The bug with games not starting has a bad side affect that I just noticed. SRAM is saved when exiting a game. If a game doesn't load, then once the game is exited the empty SRAm overwrites the old SRAM.

Temporary fix:

If a game doesn't start that has SRAM, then DON'T EXIT WITH THE WRITE ANALOG STICK. Cut off the Xbox with the power button or the SRAM will be overwritten with the empty sram and all previous data will be lost.

Disregard that.

Known Issues:
1) Occasionally after exiting a game and starting another, the new game will not start. Exiting the game and
restarting should fix the problem. I don't know if this is a problem with my port or ZSNES.

2) The rom browser does not scroll correctly with less than 17 games
Thanks:

Please post any bugs in this thread.

When I heard the words "Known Issues" I was like.. Oh no, here we go.  But from what it sounds like they are very minor and the emu seems pretty complete.

Can't wait to kick the tires!

Awesome!  I look forward to testing it out.

I really liked Lantus's xsnes9x, it ran the games very well, but the emu's look is fugly (no offense, Lantus.  The time you put into the emu is greatly appreciated).  Take a note from Xport on the emu's look and feel (the best looking and running emu's on the xbox).

Things that would be welcomed:

1) Advanced Mame 2x filter (or whatever it is referred to now)

2) 720p support (if it does not already).

3) Xports Menu  happy.gif

I'm pretty impressed with this as a first release, great job!  I've noticed a couple of odd issues with the emulator so far:

- I'm having trouble using a PSX -> Xbox adapter with this release.  I can load up the emulator and select a ROM just fine, but once control is passed to the game I can't do anything unless I swap out for a real Xbox controller.  I haven't run into this issue with other emulators, not sure what's causing it.

- Music dropouts.  I've noticed this with Star Ocean and Dragon Quest I and II (the only two games I've played around with so far) The music will suddenly stop playing, but the game will still have sound effects.  Occasionally going to a different area of the game that's supposed to trigger new music will fix the problem, but it soon drops again after a couple of minutes.

Otherwise great job...I'm sure that with a little finessing it will be an excellent alternative to XSnes9x!

Awesome work nothing like playing street fighter alpha. I noticed one bug in "Stunt Race Fx" sometimes when you crash and clip through the polygons the games colors turn to a yellowish tint. This glitch can also be seen when you are entering and exiting the underwater tunnels.

This great news, thx a lot for your work. I can't wait to check it out. love.gif

Here are some options that i liked in xsnes9x and i hope they will be available in Zsnexbox:
- Stretch the screen (i used to stretch untill each snes line would match a tv line for a sharper image)
- An option to disable the flicker filter (also results in a much sharper and detailed image, especially nice with a gfx filter like 2xsai)
- admame gfx filter (nicest filter for tv use imho)

The only problem i had with xsnes9x was the sound. I hope you can make it better on your zsnes port. I used 8-point sound interpolation on the original zsnes, hopefully that option will be available on Zsnexbox too.

Outstanding!

For years I have waited for this moment and after a few unanswered requests after the past few years I get to read this today. It was half a surprise (I lurk the forums more than I write), but still something that made my day good. smile.gif In my opinion, this was the only thing that the Xbox emulators-section really missed.

I might go on a bughunt later today, but for now I am too much occupied with playing some of my favorite SNES-games.

nes6502, thanks for this wonderful port. I wish you good luck with 'cutting the sharp edges' and am looking forward to the next version. smile.gif

9) Software Filters (Super Eagle, 2xSai, Super 2xSai)

No Simple2x.

Then this is useless to me. Will wait for the next version thx.

Nice work so far!

I've never been a big SNES fan (more of a Megadrive/Genesis man) but I did look at porting ZSnes myself a good while back, but all that asm made my brain itch. So big kudos to you for taking on the challenge! smile.gif

Keep up the good work!

Congratulations! Great release!

I'd like to see HQXX filters! They're the best!
