My only complaint about this emulator, "and this goes for xports emulators too" is the menu music is way too loud. It's louder than the games you play. I'll have a comfortable volume with a certain game, and when I exit, the emulator menu music is wicked loud. I suggest tampering with the menu volume, before releasing the emu again. It's very nerve racking, having to turn the volume up/down all the time.

And I hope fast forward will be implemented in the next release. I kept pressing the white button, and getting the fps option, lol!! Great release, great work, and great job with the preview screen. All my box art looks kick ass! Thank You.  pop.gif

As stated before:

the version I release next Monday will be a functional release. i.e. you will be able to select a game and play it with sound. Anything else for this release is unlikely

Flicker filter is turned off. Hardware filtering is set to linear.

I don't know if I'm going to release the source. The Zsnes core is built from the CVS code from 4-15-06. pagefault will be giving me some updated code that will fix several issues with the emulation.

The next release will include an options screen and a resizable/movable display.

well clearly you've tackled issues that others have not been able to, such as even getting it to compile under vs2003.  nobody on board.zsnes.com even wanted to address getting it to compile under visual studio.  "why would you want to do that?" etc.

lmao.

any help you could offer with that is appreciated.

That's awesome. In that case, I'd like to point out something. You can import your saves from Xsnes9x's emulator over to this one. I think all of them are supported, but the only one I've tried, were .srm files/saves. Also, This emulator's awesome.

Anywho, Here's what I'd like to see:
Filters:
-Simple 2x
-Super Scale 2x

Features:
-Action Replay/Game Genie Support, along with a code generator unlike that other emulator.
-Fast Forward Throttle
-Reset Option
-Ability to change Graphic Filters on the fly without editing the .ini

Can you please add those things on your to do list?
Thankies in Advance  cool.gif

Working good. Was just wondering if you can add the game genie as a working function in the final release. This function was in the xsnes version but has never worked right for me.

so what's the better emulator? zsnesbox or xsnes9x??
I haven't tried zsnesbox yet
The only good thing about xsnes9x is the loading the game times and exiting the rom times.  It's really quick compared to xport's ports
Does zsnesbox offer this as well

Is this worth swapping out for XSnes9X yet?  That emu has worked with every game I tried perfectly (at least that I could tell, but I'm just a novice).  I only want one emu for each system on my xbox, and I don't want to switch just yet if the compatibility isn't there yet.  Opinions anyone?

Also, Lantus, you must be reading this thread.  You and your emulator have taken a beating.  What's your take on this?

For the love of god people, the program is small so just download it and try it!!!  I can't say that I really even played XSNES9X other than for Mario Kart or Mario RPG so I can't say that this is 100x better.  All I know is that we have a fresh developer here, trying to listen to people's requests and attempt to add in what he can.  That is the key my friends, as after an emulator is "great" and has almost everything somebody wants, you tend to find other things that might be useful.  Look at Xport's emu's.  You could say a year ago that they were all "perfect" and wouldn't need any updates.  Now he's going through and fixing little things that people have noticed affecting their gameplay.  Well, now any little gripes you might have had with XSNES9X can be remedied with this program.

I'm lovin it!   I've always hated SNES9x, just because Zsnes was so much better.

Requests:

-Xport Gui and all the goodness that comes with it

-Ability to set your rom DIR somewhere else than default

-Multitap support, possibly with the 5th player as an HID device chained off a controller for bomberman games.

And, KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.  This is by far the best 2006 Xbox release this year.
