Cheers for the input...
I have command prompt power toy installed on my pc, so I right click on the 1.2 folder icon and scroll to open command prompt here, in command prompt I type either:

- "RESTORE G" or
- "FLASHIX G 3333"

with the G being the drive letter assigned for my 360 by windows.
I'm gonna try and flash with toolbox this weekend to see if that works.

Thanks all.
Matt.

You might have the bat files too deep in your drive (eg C/blah/ blah/blah/blah/flashything.bat. Copy them to c so the comand prompt is more like C/flashything.bat

Anyone with a hitachi v46/47/59 that had sense errors with restoring or flashing, can you please try these updated batch files? It is intended to elimate such errors by eliminating any questionable varibles that dos sometimes has issues with.

The main difference is you'll notice it no longer automatically assignes a varible of your drive (%1). At the prompt it will first ask you what your drive letter is. Simply open up my computer to determine what drive letter your hitachi was assigned. If you cant figure that out, then I advise taking a basic computer class.

ixtreme 1.2 hitachi batch file updates

Drag these into your hitachi 1.2 rev 2 folder, therefore replacing the current bats with the ones contained within the archive.

Those who did not have problems, i would still greatly apreciate if you could help us test, to determine if any issues exist with this batch setup.

All credit for the batch updates go to Lahey. Thanks!

The sense error's were caused by incompatible varibles within dos. These new batch files use only known working varibles at a basic environment, to help prevent such 'sense' errors.

I think my dvd drive is bricked ...

I have a Blaster360 on a Hitachi 46 that gets it into modeb b.  I previously had  xtreme v2.4 flashed and it was all ok (except I never went on live)

Did a restore from iXtreme 1.2 rev2 - got a few IO errors but it eventually it went throu 100%

reboot

Did a flash of 1.2 rev2 100% OK

Hooked up 360 to tv, it boots to dash but power light rapid flashing green and dashboard tray saying opening.  I can neither open tray via eject button or selecting it on dash.

I did another restore, all went throu OK. but having same results when connected again.  Tray wont open.

Have I somehow bricked my drive ?

I do have an orig.bin and the key.txt from when I originally did the 2.4 flashing.  Can someone help please ?

cheers

Does the release get the hitachi into mode B by pulling the power liek the older versions did?

not sure exactly what you mean ?

When I connect with the Blaster360 (and external power block) it goes into mode b (blue light on Blaster360 and visible in windows as DVD-ROM D:).

From here the Blaster360 eject button does allow me to open/close dvd  tray.  I can also still do restore and/or flashix.

Its just that when connected back up (to tv and its own power supply) the dvd tray wont open.  The Blaster360 also doesnt light up its usual green colour.

I was going to try and flash my orig.bin back on to it with mtkflash from a bootable USB that I'd previously made using BootMaker.  Is that a good idea or will it make things worse ?

thanks

Fatmatt..Are you using xecuter connectivity kit to connect as i have had this exact problem with a v59 and a v47 this week and thought it was me.
Also are you using Windows Vista, i dont know if this makes a difference but something just isnt right here.

Sorry, just seen you use the blaster360 to get into modeb.

I did some raw dumps of 3 games a long time ago. I checked in XDVD mulleter yesterday and 2 of them were extreme compatible with all boxes checked but PGR3 gave me an error saying PFI invalid so I ran the CRC autofix and it done some changes and said every thing is fixed, I checked the image contents and I can see the files in XDVD mulleter 9, any one know if this will be 100% iXtreme compatible, the box was checked but I still don't understand how it repaired the files and what did it do.

it didnt repair 'files', it re-patched your PFI to the correct one. It fixes anything that is incorrect automatically. If it has ixtreme 1.2 checked then your fine.

I tried the new batch files for restoring and re-flashing my 59DJ.  The restore.bat still had sense errors every time I tried it.  The flash worked without a hitch.  I have however, just yesterday, started having problems reading backups.  Worked fine since release of rev2, now won't boot backups, only originals.  That's why I thought I'd try out the new batch files.  Hope this info is useful.

Couldn't open custom.bin!
Done.

Hey guys,

Been trying to flash my v78 drive all afternoon.
I've been trying to restore first but I read (I can't remember on what page) that you need the original firmware for v78 drives to restore them
The thing is, I don't have the original firmware.
Am I able to make one?
Also, once I have it what do I do with it to integrate it into C4EVA's flasher?

Thanks a lot!
