looks like i may have to but a core system now i guess? any last thoughts?
yes there is a method you can try that worked flawlessly with a sammy from a friend of mine.
its called the rubber band method.
its really quite low tech but it seems to work. you can google it or search for it in the usual places, but ill try to explain how to do it:
open your x360 and open your drive.
there is a metal bar were the laser unit slides up and down.(if you opened one you know what i mean)
on that bar you put a rubber band at the inner end.(just wrap it around a couple of times and tie it with a knot and cut the excess)
this will act like a "bumper" for the laser and it will prevent it to go all the way down the bar. the laser unit will not be able to go to full docking position.
Like this if you will
before: inner part )) laser
after: inner part ).) laser (the dot is the rubber band)
as i said before this worked like a charm with a friend of mine(did it myself quite easy). no more read issues. I think what it does is it prevents the laser to read parts of a burned disk that dont have information as opposed to an original that has information all the way into the inner circle.
by the way this does not affect originals in any way they boot like before.
hope this helps, and if you have doubts as i said before just look for it and you will find more info im sure.
