There are rumours about an upcoming version 1.3 because of boot problems with 1.2... Is there any truth in that?

WTF 1.3? I somehow get the feeling that there wont be a Hitachi release this year...  -no comment- ...

c4eva said tonight that progress has been made on hitachi and that it would probably be reading for testing by next weekend.  there is no version 1.3 in progress, 1.2 is considered rock solid for the foreseeable future.

Just 2 questions,
I cant remember if they were answered already.

I plan on buying a brand new 360 today with a MS28 drive.

1.
Is it save to use my HD from my banned 360 on the new xbox?

2.
Whats the smartest thing  to do?
Flash the 360 straight out of the box with ixtreme
or is it safe to play online and maybe flash it in the future with ixtreme ?
And then go online with my backups.

thx

I burned the disc labeled "Activate" for my Sammy 25.  I burned it to a DVD+R DL.  I didn't use the 0800 - find the package called "Activate" for your Sammy.  It worked great with iXtreme for me.

I found this "Activate" disc and its 0800 disc just called differently.
when you burned on dvd+r DL did image burn ask you if you want to split the data between the 2 layers(like its usually done with DL discs) or just write it onto the first layer because its so small?
Ive chosen to split it maybey thats why it doesnt work for me?

Its been a while since I used the 0800 disc but I don't think you split it.

you don't have to split the disc.
just burn it normally without splitting anything.

Yes, its actually recommended not to boot  your unbanned box when the sata cable is unplugged.
So its either power it with a banned console or unplug the video cable .

I have a 360 that has had most of the variants of firmware on in its time. I probably have also used non stealth disks at some point. The system has never been on live. Would it be ok on live now with the new ixtreme firmware?

I personally think you should be fine!
There's some discussion going about offline logging, however there's still NO PROOF that it actually happens.
(c4eva answered that on my question)

Is there a tutorial or guide or some clear specific instructions on how to flash your ms25 when it's been previously flashed to the xtreme firmware??

My xbox has not been banned yet, and since all this saga began, I've had my Ethernet cable unplugged from my box.

Few months ago I had modified my box my flashing to the xtreme5 firmware to play my backups. (I actually don't play on LIVE, just use my crappy free Silver account for downloading trailers & all).
Now I'd like to flash my firmware to this ixtreme 1.2 to prevent ban. I had followed the "TEXTBOOK" tutorial PDF and a video on youtube to open the box.

I'm finding instructions scattered here and there, and especially none for an non-banned modified ms25.
I would really appreciate if someone can point me to such an upgrade tutorial.

THANKS!
