Hi Guys!

Just a quick question. Does anyone know if the hitachi version that commodore is currently working on will work on Hitachi 78 drives or will it just be for the older model hitachi drives?

The iXtreme only prevents DVD-Rs from being detected, not the firmware itself, right?
So, if I have a Hitachi with the old 2.4 firmware and go on live with an empty tray to download demos, I should be as safe as with the iXtreme.
Do I understand this right?

Place your original firmware (named orig.bin), which can be Hitachi or Samsung firmware, in the root directory of the release package, along with the make firmware command, and double click the command. If the origina firmware version is non-ms28, it will ask you to spoof. Enter 'Y' and you will have a iXtreme sammy firmware spoofed to whatever version your original firmware was.

Wrong. MS25 don't have firmguard.
They get firmguard if you flash to xtreme or MS28 original because they both have the firmguard "feature".
Which, by the way, is exactly what Digital_sin meant.

Original MS25 = no firmguard
Flashed MS25 = firmguard (unless you use a really old xtreme version, 3.x iirc)

Ive burnt the 0800 disc on a dual layer media and it still wont work, there has to be a way to get the 0800 disc to work with iXtreme aint it?

Is there any reason you'd need to use the 0800 disc? Can't you just do Texbook's 10 sec trick to flash your drive?

10sec trick works with via 6421 chipset and I dont have that card anymore, in the last couple of flashes I used the 0800 disc with XBM(which hex edited the mtkflash) I have an NF 550 chipset and it worked perfectly with 0800 disc but now I'm screwed I can't use the 0800 disc, I've heard that its possible to use it even with iXtreme10 but I dont know what Im doing wrong.

I burned the disc labeled "Activate" for my Sammy 25. I burned it to a DVD+R DL. I didn't use the 0800 - find the package called "Activate" for your Sammy. It worked great with iXtreme for me.

! I was wondering if someone could tell me what versino these ixtreme firmwares are, eg: in the previous ones he released there was a,b,c ect.. Each one had different default reading speeds. Now that there is only one firmware file can someone tell me the default read speed on this. Other than that question all is well. **Note if you already have a bootable floppy/cd/usb created from previous flashes all you have to do is run the make Ixtreme command that is included with the package and then replace the new firmware it creates in the directory of your drive and flash. Very simple.

There are rumours about an upcoming version 1.3 because of boot problems with 1.2... Is there any truth in that?
