I highly doubt MS is gonna care what drives we have in the system. Like "Oh look, we can't send code to this HLG drive anymore, they must've changed to a TS".  rolleyes.gif  You know how tedious that would be for them to check everyone's drives? They would have to ban 1 by 1. Not to mention, they've made drive changes themselves. Granted not from a hitachi to a samsung or vice-versa, but still....they couldn't even detect the fw, so they attacked the types of backups. You guys are giving MS too much credit...The people who were banned, were playing half assed 'scene' releases. Now, C4E has made his fw so everything has to be done properly this time around, which is why half of you are throwing out your "backups" now  tongue.gif

I played only originals on live and I made my backups from originals that now work on iXtreme 1.2.

I was banned before on my Hitachi. Had to get a new 360 too sad.gif

hello...
i really don't know where to ask this question.
so i try it here:

My situation:
I'm offline since one day before the Spring Update.
So I don't have the spring update on my box.

I have a Sammy ms25, my recent FW is Xtreme 3.x

I'm not too sure if all my backups I played are stealthed,
because in the beginning a friend of mine did that, and I
don't know how much effort he put in that.

Question:
If I now flash to iXtreme 1.2, am I save then?
Or did MS save information about not right stealthed games even before Spring Update?

And like, every game that boots with 1.2 is stealthes properly,
every game that doesn't boot is not properly stealthed, right?
thx for help.

They saved information before spring update. If your banned, your already banned, no way to prevent. Turn on your system to check.

Yes, it boots/doesnt boot games as you described.

Ok, read through this whole thread, but I am still confused.

I have a MS25 with Xtreme 5.2x and I want to flash to iXtreme 1.2, using my Via VT6421 Pci card. I have my orig.bin from my first flash.

1) When i use "Make ixtreme firmware.cmd", should i choose Y or N, just need a plain answer please.

2) After I have my hacked firmware, can i just copy it onto my floppy from my first flash? ( When i made this, I did not use "MS28 Bad flash compatability" and "Apply Bokes patch for MS28 Drives" does this matter)

3) If I can just copy it, once i boot into Dos, will the command be, mtkflash w /m ix12.bin , then use the ten second trick?

Thanks.

Alright, first, thx for answering.
When I turn on my system and try to log onto XBLive! as you advised,
I get the message, there is a new update available (spring update).
Of course I will not update before i have a proper FW flashed.

But it doesn't say anything about banned, etc.
Just the normal message that there is a new update available and if I don't update,
I will be logged out.

So, does that mean I'm not banned yet?
And I'm save to go with iXtreme 1.2 ?!

thx for reply.

Yeah you are not banned, people that are banned cannot get the update. There is no harm in accepting the update, as long as you dont use any backups while connected to live until you have your drive flashed you should be ok. By connected I mean ethernet cable pluged in. You dont have to be playin on live to get banned just connected.

I am not sure why you are confused with #1.  Did you read the prompt?

*** WARNING ***
Drive versions do not match!!!

Do you want to spoof your iXtreme firmware to MS25? (Y/N):

It clearly asks a question.  If you want to spoof the iXtreme to read an MS25, you hit Y, if you don't want to spoof, you hit N.  As to whether you should spoof, start searching threads.  Many arguments for or against so take your pick.

Your drive is an MS25.  You shouldn't need those other settings for bad flash unless your drive has had a bad flash.  You also do not need the 10 sec trick.  You just need the enable0800 disc first as per instructions when flashing your fw when the drive already contains a firmguarded version.

So the box doesn't save if I'm playing a backup when I'm not plugged in?
So when the ethernet cable is plugged in I only play the originals,
when I'm unplugged I can play backups as well.
And next time I plug it in back everything is just fine, really?

thx.

Hi all just a quicky don't know if it's just me but seem to be having a problem with different types of media not cheap crappy ones but just a variety. Wonder if the same media fix will be applied to this fiirmware in the near future allowing all dye types to work. Lastly regarding the spoofing the drive i had an ms25 tried the ms28 spoof using the ixtreme didn't work got the dreaded 1 light and the E6x so had to use the bad flash method to get the ixtreme ms25 version any one else had this issue many thanxs smile.gif

Nobody know that for sure (or at least nobody confirmed that) but AFAIK it doesn´t matter if you´re with the cable on or not. It´s unlikely that everytime you connect on live or play a game on it. It´s much more logic to have a record on your console and upload it every week or month.

Kk, thanks for the help, I have decided not to spoof my firmware.
That just leaves one question, can i just copy my new ixtreme firmware onto my floppy made using XBM 3.6 and use the normal manual commands? Or do i need to make a new one?

Thanks

hi, i just updated to 1.2 on a ms25 drive, load backups, shows title name in dashboard, then launch game, after getting through the menu and into the actual game.

After around 30 secs to 5mins all the backups make a bleep noise through the tv sound, the console freezes and i have to restart, so i cant play any backups.

has anyone else had this problem?

all my backups have been made with stealth using xbox backup creator.

I noticed ixtreme 1.2 is based off a M28 drive.  I have a M25 drive, should I spoof to M28 as well or just leave it as an M25?  Thanks!

Plse do (as you are suppose to) a minimum and reasonable effort of searching before posting. In this case, read the previous posts as it  was ask in this and previous (ixtreme 1.0)  many, many times.

Sounds like your console is on the way out mate.
I had a console that did that which ended with the Red ring of death. Mine did it on originals though, but I guess it doesn't matter what DVD you insert as it was in my case a fault with the GPU. It was fixed using the 'bolt trick'.

If you're feeling competent to do that then give it a go. I'd do it now before the console progresses to full on death.
