Ok, read through this whole thread, but I am still confused.
I have a MS25 with Xtreme 5.2x and I want to flash to iXtreme 1.2, using my Via VT6421 Pci card. I have my orig.bin from my first flash.
1) When i use "Make ixtreme firmware.cmd", should i choose Y or N, just need a plain answer please.
2) After I have my hacked firmware, can i just copy it onto my floppy from my first flash? ( When i made this, I did not use "MS28 Bad flash compatability" and "Apply Bokes patch for MS28 Drives" does this matter)
3) If I can just copy it, once i boot into Dos, will the command be, mtkflash w /m ix12.bin , then use the ten second trick?
Thanks.
I am not sure why you are confused with #1. Did you read the prompt?

Do you want to spoof your iXtreme firmware to MS25? (Y/N):
It clearly asks a question. If you want to spoof the iXtreme to read an MS25, you hit Y, if you don't want to spoof, you hit N. As to whether you should spoof, start searching threads. Many arguments for or against so take your pick.
Your drive is an MS25. You shouldn't need those other settings for bad flash unless your drive has had a bad flash. You also do not need the 10 sec trick. You just need the enable0800 disc first as per instructions when flashing your fw when the drive already contains a firmguarded version.
