Thats good news sounds like hitachi is just around the corner biggrin.gif
my current xbox360 has the dreaded 3rod & is banned just temporaly fixing via the towel trick  blink.gif & have been waiting on news of the ixtreme for the hitachi to buy a new xbox360 because garaunteed if i go out & buy a new one it'll be a hitachi, I'll end up getting my new one flashed up with the new ixtreme & If M$ get round this one & ban it, I'll give up on xboxlive & stick with my PC for online gaming & end up using the 360 for trying out backups & if any decent online game comes out i may just end up buying another 360 just to play origianls At least be able to play the backups first to Fish out the rubbish ones & buy the quality games (wont be many though)

Wow, I can't believe someone that's been around as long as you have has never read the rules.

Whether you plan to buy a game or not, having a backup (before having the original) of it IS piracy. Enjoy your vacation.  dry.gif

My dinner was ready so i didn't have time to post it here, but sosotiit did already (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Well, there's finally some news around the hitachi release, but as many people said already, it appears that the samsung is higher on the prio list.

However, if C4Eva uses 99% of the samsung code (which he knows best) for hitachi, hopefully all new 1.1 features will be included in the Hitachi and/or BenQ 1.0 release!

I'm keeping my fingers crossed and wait patiently!

good news

This is good news for the Hitachi. At least now we know a little bit more about the firmware, and what stage its in in development. So far there hasnt been any bans (that I know of) with iextreme for samsung, so I hope the same thing will happen for Hitachi users. But then again, M$ can already have a way to detect us but they are waiting for another ban wave.  sad.gif

Couple of quick questions.

-Will iextreme make some of my backups not work? I got this impression from reading online.
-If i never use xbox live should i just go ahead and use this firmware on my 360

just a small update from #fw

[17:24] <Cypher21> Hej guys, whatsup with 1.1 that will not be released? Instead 1.2 with even more functionality?
[17:25] <c4eva> 1.2 is done, beta testing, shouldnt be long
[17:26] <Cypher21> c4eva, are you working on hitachi now? and if so, will that firmware have the sammy 1.2 functionality?
[17:28] <c4eva> hitachi is next, now that samsung is done
[17:29] <thinkdiff> c4eva: how much of the hitachi code is done? Or do you still have a lot of porting to do?
[17:30] <c4eva> alot of progress has been made in the last 96 hours on stealth checks so hitachi will have them all included

Sweet.  biggrin.gif   I could really care less if the firmware was released next week, I just want it to be bug free and have stealth media. From the looks of things, I could say that is very likely to happen.  pop.gif

1. Depends on whether you used stealth or not.
2. No. Use iextreme. It will be released for Hitachi pretty soon, so just wait.  wink.gif

quote from ixtreme 1.2 release:

The Hitachi Version of iXtreme is currently a Work In Progress. There is no ETA, so i would give it several weeks before any public progress report.

Seems that we have to be patient for a while guys! But then all things are tested by our sammy fellowes, so we should have a great 1.0 firmware (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

It seems like the iXtreme Hitachi is going to take some time, therefore I have a question. The new frimware only hides the DVD-R from detection, not the firmware itself. So as long as I only go online to download demos and videos without a DVD-R in my drive or with an DVD-Rom, it will be just as safe as with an iXtreme fiemware, right?

if they are stealth patched and have the PFI and DMI present then they should be fine
just double check by using the acidflash test in schtrom and xdvdmulleter
if these say that all stealth elements are present then you should be alright  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

You have to add something: if you have THE RIGHT stealth patches you should be fine.
You have to wait for the new xdvdmulleter to check the backups if they will work on the new iXtreme firmware (1.2 for sammy and the new ixtreme for hitachi) As of now, there's no way to 100% check if the backup will work on the new firmware because it has newer checks on DMI/PFI and video.
the 1.0 firmware (and mulleter beta8) only checkes if the stealth files were present, the newer firmware checks if they are the correct ones and match eachother.

If you created your own backups with a samsung or kreon drive you should be fine
