ok to discuss how ixtreme performs and its features, but this is not the report Ban/Not ban console thread.

The reports should be done in Banned/not Banned Console Reporting, inc. iXtreme1.0, ALL REPORTS ON BANNED/NOT BANNED HERE

also note for flashing question How To Update To iXtreme: Tutorial, Xtreme Boot maker / Via card method.

Just like it is not the place for another stupid and futile debate on which console is best. This thread is iXtreme firmware (period). I am not aginst it, but not in this forum.

I have a question about the E64 Error

Today I flashed my ms28 with the iXtreme 1.0A... unfortunately i did not notice the possibility of the E64 error and I'm afraid it logged firmware change?

I haven't been on Live yet, and I did use the xbox360 power while flashing. But "not use your XBOX360 to power your drive while the sata cable is disconnected from your MB"

my xbox was on only while the sata cable was connected from my ms28 to my PC's motherboard, does that mean i am not affected by the E64 error?

Thanks

it is probably logged, as when you have your sata cable disconnected from your xbox's MB and you power your xbox on, it will generate the E64 error and quite possibly log it, however I've flashed it countless times using my own xbox and the sata cable from my dvd drive to my pc mobo, and also with the iXtreme fw, and as of now I am still going strong and unbanned smile.gif.

I remember when the bannings first happened, I thought it was a nice theory, but afterwards, I figured it was probably a bit impractical, as I'm sure there's plenty of consoles they've had to service without anything hooked up for certain debugging purposes at one point or another, and would leave a nice hole for inaccuracies (especially as hardware gets older, there's a chance the DVD-ROM wouldn't detect on a boot, but power cycling could get it to detect on the next bootup, etc).

It's still better safe than sorry, but I think it's unlikely they log this...at least for banning purposes.

hi guys I'm currently out of the uk on holiday, before I went on holiday I had a console banned off live but now I have got a new one with a ms28 drive, from what I gather its 100% safe to use ixtreme on live and that no one has been banned?
thanks to anyone who clears this up for me, its hard viewing the forums on a pda screen lol

So, for this firmware to have been created they must know EXACTLY what information Microsoft used to ban consoles from LIVE.

Yet no where has anyone published anything more than mere theories.
Without definitley knowing what microsoft used then anyonce can claim that their new improved firmware prevents banning.  Remember the last *Stealth* patch just before the spring update.  My mate was banned and that was the one and only firmware mod he had put on his box.

Ultimately until this has been in the wild for a period of months and until it survives another microsoft update there is no way that anyone can claim that this protects against banning.

Good luck to all of the *Beta* testers,  I would laugh my ass off at you all if you all got banned tomorrow.

Well, apparently you have not been watching the news?

xbox-scene front page news on banning details
and
FuzzyLogic logs atapi commands on xboxhacker.net

Yes, we are claiming it protects against banning. It does EXACTLY that. Will it always? Well, we sure could hope so....but i very much doubt it. However, the holes are *very* well patched, and MS is going to have to invest ALOT of time/labor into detecting current xtreme firmwares.

guys, how do i know if i'm banned or not before flashing my dvd drive with iXtreme?

do i just connect to live with my 5.3C without a backup in the drive? Or if i'm not banned yet this will get me banned? BTW, i never updated to the spring update, so what if it does ask me to update?

I've never used my 360 (backups or originals) for months, I only turned it on once after Dashboard revision 2.0.4552 was released in January to update my 360 and messed around with it for a while.
