iXtreme firmware 1.0 for TS-H943 Xbox 360

Well, I am an MS25 user, I was on Live before and now I am again... still works.. however, I am not too sure whether this is a safe way.. yes, MS28 might have a FirmGuard but MS knows my console serial number.. maybe they would be able to find out "okay, this console is a March 2006 console before MS28 was invented so this drive shouldn't have a FirmGuard" - in fact it has, boom, I am away.. only speculation in my eyes but possible (being online with a pure MS25 would be probably also dangerous: dump firmware, check, boom, away)...

let's hope M$ is not able to find out the console or drive date - if they can, I guess MS25 users will be their target - MS28 users should be safe.. their firmwares have firmguards and as firmguard exists Ms will probably be unable to find the banned drives!

I know you're somewhat of a guru but I disagree:
If e66 really allows updates then MS-28 version-id ('no') seems a much better choice for MS-25 owners. Why? Because iXtreme, just like every Firmguarded Xtreme FW, is based on MS-28. Spoofing to MS-25 will make it easier to detect because no real MS-25 has read/write protection.

Please correct me if my logic is flawed.

The situation is further complicated for users who have an MS25 drive and have flashed previously.

If they used an MS28 based hacked firmware and spoofed it as MS25 then they could use either iXtreme option and should be fine.  However an MS25 to MS28 version change could be picked up.  So maybe continuing to spoof as MS25 is the better bet for this example.  This is what I think needs some further clarification.

The other situation is if the MS25 drive used a previous flash with an MS28 based hacked firmware and they left it reporting as MS28 (ie they did the MS25 to MS28 version upgrade a while back) they then CANT spoof back to MS25 surely?  Otherwise the dash will notice a DOWNGRADE in version number and E66 on them? (or worse, insta-ban)

So you cant just say "use Yes"  or "use No".  It depends on what they did previsouly, and what version their drive is currently telling the dash it is...

Anyway - great work C4E.  You get my thanks!  love.gif

I have a spare TS MS09 flashed with Xtreme 3.1. This was a replacement for a hitachi a while back, which is also flashed with C4E 2.4s & was the drive used when banned. So obviously the key from the hitachi was brought over to the TS way back when. I now have a unbanned box with a Hitachi, dumped the firmware....So can i just use Toolbox & use the key from hitachi to flash with iXtreme? Would this also make the MS09 read as a MS28?

I feel like im missing something...its 5am...feel free to chime in if im missing a step.

just wondering if i don;t ever plan on playing on xboxlive what are the advantage of having this FW

This fw has less functionality than previous ones so dont flash to it unless you want to connect to live with less risk of banning, e.g. if you think that M$ might be logging offline play and reporting it.

Hmmm  They may choose to not to play games on Live, but they might want the dash updates etc in future.  And if the current dash logs theyve played backups offline, it'll ban them as soon as they try to get the dash update.

Would have been more informative if the OP had said "I never want to connect to Live ever again" or similar.  What theyve said is a bit vague...

(edit: ah, I see you've edited your post to say sommat similar anyhow... I was too quick for you wink.gif )

You can update via CD or a none banned console, so shouldn't be a problem.

Thanks for this but i might just stick with my Xtreme 4.2 still not banned as of yet (touch wood)

Just a thought maybe all us people that never got banned the first time around haven't been banned for a reason!

What M$ are doing is being very sneaking and have held back on banning a percentage of users waiting till the  scene brings out their new firmware then BANG they start banning again! Everyone who never got banned the first time get's banned,Then we have a mad rush with everyone saying they have been banned using this new firmware, and were back to square one

Anyways its just a thought i maybe right i maybe wrong lets see in a week or so's time  blink.gif

Surely the whole m28 spoofing debate is a easy one. The difference between the original 25 and 28. Was only firmware pure and simple. It put the flashing guards in place and gave c4eva the inspiration for the enable 0800 setup. The hardware was the same. So how can m$ know that a 28 was once the 25 if the hardware is the same. If before the only difference on original fw`s and drives was fw.

I have a question regarding spoofing.

My 360 shipped with a Hitachi 0078.  The first thing I did was replace it with a ms25 before ever turning the box on.  I've been spoofing it as a 0078 and already have the most recent Live updates.

Now with iXtreme I've been hearing how spoofing across different drives is dangerous.  Am I completely screwed?

Which option is the least dangerous for my situation? :

A) Report as MS28
cool.gif Report as MS25
C) Report as 0078
