I'm starting to get frustrated.

I downloaded iPrep and IXtreme 1.0, extracted the rar files then used the Make iXtreme firmware.cmd to create my firmware, but when I try to load the firmware in iPrep nothing happens, it still says Current Firmware: None Loaded.

Downloaded iPrep yesterday and flashed a Samsung drive (MS28) with iXtreme 1.0. The first time I also got None loaded while trying to load the fw. Downloaded the fw again. I read that they changed one bit in the fw. (Try to download a new one) Then I could read the fw with Iprep.  Only extract the rar. Do NOT use the firmware.cmd to create the fw.

The spoofing als worked in Iprep. Spoofed a Samsung drive as an Hitachi 59DJ. You need you're orig.bin from your Hitachi  though.

This is what I did to make it work

This was done with VIA VT6421 chipset!

When your bootable USB drive is ready.

1. Boot up your PC and boot from USB
2. Turn on your XBOX360 (connected with the SATA cable on tour PC, I turned it on while in menu to select the booting device)
3. Follow the onscreen instruction to dump or flash
4. BEFORE you select the port -> TURN OFF your XBOX
5. Select the PORT
6. WAIT 10 secs
7 Turn ON XBOX and it starts to dump/flash the DRIVE
8. Test

Hope that helps!

yes it seems the beta of 1.1 led to a few additional improvements, so it is 1.2 we will see.

Anyone knows anything about 1.2 bringing back xbox1 games on single layer? I have made quite a lot of backups of original xbox games on single layer, all work perfect, and it would really be a drag (and consume $) to have to re-do all backups on double layer.

This is the sole reason I am still using 5.3 and have opted not to go Live for now...

Thanks!

no new features, same as 1.0 with a few improvements for better detection of proper backups.

Question: I have never played on LIVE and don't intend to either. I have the free Silver account and all I really use it for is download Trailers, Demos, visiting Live Marketplace and keeping my Achievements Online.

I have the Samsung MS25 Drive that I flashed to the xtreme firmware a couple of months ago.

I have not been banned yet, but I'm assuming I will shortly.

Should I update to iextreme now? Or should I just wait till there is better backup support. (I've heard a lot of people complain they are not able to play their backups, even originals, and all backups need to be stealth-patched.

In the meantime I can easily keep my Ethernet Cable unplugged. Will that keep me unbanned?

Thanks.

The backups in iX work the same as 5.3. End Of Story.

The only difference is that MAYBE your backups are spinning faster now and thus don't read as well. The obvious fix is to use better media and a slow burn speed.

Most people are not having a single problem with discs.

I would not trust the cable being unplugged at all. There is no guarantee. Just update to iX, get rid of your non-stealth discs, and don't worry about it.

I wouldn't count on "better" backup support.  If anything, the new firmware is moving towards a tighter approach towards letting backups boot.  No single-layer media, no un-stealthed backups, the image break must be at the right spot, etc. etc. etc.  Everything coming from C4E seems to be geared towards, in routing terms, "default deny".  Your backup has to prove to C4E that it's good before it will boot up.

I've never heard of anybody being unable to use their originals or their properly-made backups with iXtreme.  Where do you see this?

May have been mistaken about this, as I was about "better backup support coming".
Both yours & telo's post strongly assert that I should flash to iextreme1.1 .... I think I'm going to.

I used a "textbook tutorial" to flash the very first time. Is there something similar out there for reflashing to the iextreme fw?
EDIT: Found out the thread in the Newbie Chat forum.

Question: If I get Banned before upgrade - Can I still upgrade to iextreme 1.1 and connect to LIVE thereafter?

Thanks!

Nope, once that console is banned you're screwed unless you get a new one.

If you are banned from live there is absolutly no point upgrading to Iextreme you will not be unbanned ever!, and whichever dodgy backup got you banned in the first place will not work anymore.
If you not dared see if you are banned yet try connecting to live with either no disc or an original in the drive. Its safe. If you are not banned whoopie upgrade to Iextreme, if you are banned there is no point. hope this is clear.
