I really don't want to be one of those posters that everybody screams at to "SEARCH!" but here goes...I put the iXtreme 1.0 firmware on my Samsung MS28 and reluctantly logged onto Live expecting to be banned. I went through the backups I made (all ripped from my Kreon drive with Xbox Backup Creator and burned with CloneCD) with XDVDMulleter Beta 8 in an attempt to make sure that they are all stealthed properly. They all are except my backup of MLB 2K7. Under the "Xtreme Compatibility" section, "PFI present" and "DMI Present" are UNchecked ("Security sector present" IS checked). And in the "ISO Type" section "Xtreme Compatible" is UNchecked. So, the obvious question here is why does this backup of MLB 2K7 play perfectly in my box (it does) when the iXtreme 1.0 firmware is supposed to reject any backup that is not properly stealthed?

I would actually contact badsheepy regarding the issue. Perhaps it is a bug within mulleter. We have tested many many bad disc's (created for the purpose of testing) and 'other' versions to ensure everything is working/not working as neccessary.

Rest assured, if ixtreme boots it, then it has the correct corresponding DMI/PFI/SS (extra pfi/video checks to come in version 1.1 in the next day if no more bugs found)

can it not also be that those who are not banned yet, me included, will be banned with microsoft's next banning round and that thi fw doesn't do anything? Of course we can now play back-ups while you are signed in to Live, but is that because of the new Ixtreme fw, or just because we are not banned yet?

Could be....could also be that no one knows for sure and asking this is a useless exercise and a waste of everyone's time and bandwidth.

However, feel free to ask M$ for an official, detailed technical document on how they detect backup DVD's and, once they have given this to you, someone will surely be willing to look into this for you.

so from what I've been reading, the new extreme removes the feature of the prev firmware that will allow you to read your backups at a slower speed? Is this a correct assumption?
That means loading up backups will be just as noisy as the originals with extreme firmware?

This  is ok, i have a kreon patched drive, and have always been using it, you can get one for like £15 on ebay.

Sad to say my first machine was banned, flashed out of the box with maximus 2.3, not played online in ages, but did load up stuff while signed in.

Found a couple of bad stealth discs, so i am asuming thats my banning reason.
 

So kreon only from now on.

One thing i would like to know 100% for sure now i have the second box, has anybody who has ONLY played originals online, and their backups offline been banned as of yet?.

I heard somebody mention in another thread, they never played online, but were banned when they plugged in the console at their mates to get an update.

not your few non-stealth backups, hitachi does not media stealth. Even if the stealth was on disc, it would not make much difference, just like not having it.

As far a single person reporting this or that, you have to be careful that since we do not know the history of the console before, there are not much to be concluded.

I havent heard so far of a solid case of a console that started with iXtreme (no other hacked FW before), always played  offline with fully stealth backup (made by that person with a Kreon and XBCr/Schtrom)even while connected to live, and where all play on live was done with original, and that such situation resulted in a ban. Note that it is no guarantee, it may just come later (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) .

In fact it seems that if you had a samsung always up to date on fw (even prior to iXtreme),  always played  offline with fully stealth backup (made by that person with a Kreon and XBCr/Schtrom)even while connected to live, and where all play on live was done with original, then it seems that your odds were pretty good from the direct feedback I received.

Just some feedback, it is no guarantee of waht awaits us. MS may totally chaged its strategy for the next round, who knows really??

Yeah i hear ya, well i just sold my old box, and new one is ready for flashing, have another hitachi 47dj (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Just wondered though, as its a new machine, i wanna play my original GOW online, good idea to do that before i flash?, or wait until i flash then sign in. Although i will be recovering an old tag from the banned box.

Thhinking about it i may make a brand new tag, dont like the idea of it.

alright so, i just flashed my ms25 the other day with ixtreme, (i'm not banned). was having some trouble with some of my games, then today, nothing i've tried has worked.

originals that worked a day or so ago, now are coming up with put this disk into a 360. while backups are just saying "open tray."

i'm lost on what to do.

should i just get off of live and reflash back to 5.3?

Sounds like the pot needs tweakin to me. I dont think it will make any difference flashin back to 53. Was you runnin at a slower drive speed with 53 was it a,b,c or d.

well i've tweaked the pot before....i've never had 5.3, i had 5.2b. but i d/l'ed 5.3 cause i was having issues reading my media, either way

i was thinking about that earlier, i've the got rubberband mod too. i think i really need a new laser, but idk.

i double checked the stealth on my backups, they're all good except a few early ones. and the originals, they should play no matter what.

my original pot reading was 3.78 and i tuned it to 3.24 and it was doing fine until i put on ixtreme.  

it's been a while since i've played my 360. i did a lil bit after the spring update, but then i was gone for a month so i didn't play it because i heard of all the banning.

think i should tweak the pot again?
