iXtreme firmware 1.0 for TS-H943 Xbox 360
« Reply #375 on: June 02, 2007, 05:22:00 AM »

The frimware upgrade from 5.3c to iXtreme did work to me.
The problem was solved by booting the pc without the X360 on.
Then when typed mtkflash w /m ix10.bin and before hitting Enter bot the X360 and hit Enter.
It detected my X360 selected option 1 (had only 1) and Powered off my X360, waited 10 sec and booted up.
Flashing started and was done.
Unfortunately when took the X360 all together and mounted up connect to Live process failed.
Got error codes on network test Z: 8015 - 190D. Too bad got banned. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/grr.gif)
Was strange though because was not connected to Live since the banning started.
Well guess iam one of the unlucky ones.
Thanx for helping me flashing it and good luck to the other ones.

First of all, c4eva says right there in the readme file that YOU SHOULD USE ON LIVE AT YOUR OWN RISK!

Second of all; instead of blaming and pointing fingers and "laughing your ass off" maybe you should develop a firmware for free on your own dime and time and release it too, so people who don't know how to use it can then call you a backstabber who sold them out to M$ for money when they get banned.

Finally; as long as consoles exist; modders will too. And as long as modders exist; there will be people out there trying to catch/stop them. So unless c4eva can see into the future, nothing is a 100% future proof. all you should care about is that this firmware is working "right now". My advice to you, enjoy it while it lasts or STFU.

BTW: If Microsoft wanted to stop and ban modders from the beginning they could have (backups without any sort of stealth, I mean come on! they must have been very easy to spot). They only banned people after complete morons used these firmwares to cheat online. And I'm sure that if the cheating spreads even further, Microsoft will start cracking down on modders again. Let's hope for our sake that there isn't an exploitable hack in Halo 3 or I'm 100% sure that the banning will start again.

USE ON LIVE AT YOUR OWN RISK AND DO NOT FOR !#$#$ SAKE CHEAT!

Was your firmware reporting as ms25 or ms28?

If it was reporting as ms28, do the following...

Open the iXtreme 1.0 firmware with 360 firmware toolbox again (the bin you already injected your key into) and spoof your firmware to ms25.

Or, you can take your orig.bin from your ms25, put it in the main directory of the iXtreme 1.0 firmware package and use the make firmware command.  When prompted if you want to copy your version strings over to the ix10.bin, type 'Y'.

If it was reporting as ms25, do the reverse of what i have stated above.

Caster.

make sure the 0800 disk is burned to a dual layer dvd, single layer dvds are no longer supported.

That's probably it.  Thanks bro.

Well, i discussed it with c4e, and he double checked the public release and the fix for originals is definitly present. Likely the issue at hand is your previous firmware read originals at a slower speed (5.2D right?) and the new firmware is hardcoded at 12x. This could present a problem with worn-down lasers.

Yeah, that makes sense! As soon as I revert to the original I'll see if still goes on!

Thanks for the help! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I hadn't gotten on LIVE since the spring update was released.  I don't even think I played my XBox.  I updated to iXtreme yesterday and tested live and I was banned.  No spring update.  Whatever MS is doing to ban has NOTHING to do with the spring update.

IF UR BANNED IT DOESN'T MATTER HOW LONG U HAVE DISCONNECTED UR 360 NETWORK CABLE IF U PLAYED NON-STEALTH BACKUPS UR BANNED ANYWAY RED FLAGGED ETC.

EVERYONE NEEDS TO CHECK CONNECTION BEFORE UPDATING TO IXTREME TO SEE IF UR BANNED BEFORE UPGRADE (IMG:style_emoticons/default/muhaha.gif)
I'VE UPDATED MINE AND IT WORKED BEFORE AND AFTER
I'VE HAD ALL FIREWARES TO DATE ON MY XBOX360 AND DONE ALL LIVE UPDATES
I ALSO NEVER PLAYED NON-STEALTH BACKUP ON MY 360 (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ph34r.gif)

XBC = 2.5

1st: the firmware is now replicating the original firmware in every way possible, which includes a hard coded 12x read speed. This is likely what causes the 'whining'.

Is it possible to change this back to slow read speed in like hex-edit. And if so what has to be changed to what?

Thanks

just turn up your stereo's volume.. so you get a little whirling from the 12X speed... big deal..

maybe when the next generation 360 comes out, they will just put games on USB 8GB sized
keys... then no more moving parts..

But that would make using iXtreme pointless. MS might detect that your drive isn't reading at the correct speed.

So, I took the plunge last night and flashed iXtreme 1.0 (last FW I had was Xtreme 5.2C, before that was 2.x).  I installed the Spring update, and was not banned on Live as of May 18th.  That's when I heard about the bans, and pulled my ethernet plug until the dust settled a bit.

I'm happy to report that I have successfully flashed iXtreme and am still not banned on Live!  Woot!  I realize of course that this could change at any minute (as anyone getting going into modding in the first place should).

Anyway, I had a question about game updates.  Is there a risk when installing game updates for backed up games when prompted on bootup?  I know that iXtreme will only boot stealth patched backups, but I'm wondering if MS could somehow install a game update that will be able to detect backups (even stealth patched), and ban you.  If this is possible, would original XBox games be more or less likely to be detected?

I ask this because I popped in Ninja Gaiden (a dual-layer XBOX1 backup) and I got the game update message.  I certainly don't want to risk being banned just to be able to play this game, but if it is probably harmless I'll do it.  Advice?
