Why would anyone want the firmware hack to block live? It's not like connecting to Live has anything to do with whether or not you get banned when you eventually do connect to Live.

From everything I've read, if you had a box not on Live, on the fall version of the dash, ran the f/w mod, played backups, then signed up for Live you'd still be banned eventually. Checks are happening in the kernel (dash) that flag your account the next time you connect to Live... It's not just "playing backups on Live" that bans you...

Has there been any info out on exactly when / with what update they have been gathering info?

I have never connected to live, but I don't know what dash I have. Is there  a way I can find out, and see what version of everything I have, to determine if logging could be being done on my particular xbox? Also, since acording to what they say, it gathers the info and then sends it to live when you connect, anyone know where this is stored?   (IMG:style_emoticons/default/uhh.gif)

Can someone re-translate the above interview, it's still hard to understand.  For example, are we not to flash the firmware with the XBox 360's power supply?

You should flash your dvd drive attatched to a BANNED console or some other power source...NOT via the xbox you flashing, the motherboard logs the info i think.

If im wrong someone wil correct me.....

I would think you could load up an original disk and call SAT to rescan your console.  If the original disk is in your drive, then it would show up as valid when they rescan.  I don't believe there was any indication that the existing C4E fw's could be detected by Microsoft.  I might call them this weekend to see what progress I can make.

I hope the loggings for SATA connection didn't begin in fall, because I have a console that still hasn't been updated with the spring kernel. I did case mods to both my systems, and if stealth games were no prob it was probably these mods that got logged and me banned

It doesn't matter whether you have the update or not.  If your console was flagged as having a non-stealthed backup in your drive, whether you were connected to Live or not, your console is banned.

sorry and call me noob.. but what does he mean by flashing the 360 using another source of power supply? how would we do that? hook up dvd drive to a different powr supply? please answer.. thanks

Connecting the 360 with external powersupply can be done with an Xecuter Connectivity Kit which is an adapter for the 360 drive power to a normal pc drive power, so you don't have to turn on the 360 and get the E64.

Maybe  maybe not. I did not go on live when the banning started until 2 weeks after to try it out and I couldn't even log in let alone play a game online. And I restored before I tried.
