InFeCtuS will soon release 'Flat Cables' for Xbox360 DVD drives ... this will allow you to easily install the InFeCtuS modchip on your Xbox360 ODD drive (this versatile modchip allows you to flash/patch the onboard DVD flash, serve as dual FW chip or act like a Globe360 or NME 1.2 chip):

Why? Nothing is suggesting that new consoles that are modded right from the start with the latest FW would be banned.

or not.  With chips that you can disable/enable the mod, they will become the next thing, like the old xbox, chip on for backups, chip off for xbox live.  The only problem I see with the quick solder things, is the black goo/epoxy thats on any newer drive.  Alot of work to scrap that stuff off perfectly enough to quick solder anything too I would think.

More like perfect timing. Everyone is going to want an easy dualboot solution now. The other things we need is a somewhat easy way to unban consoles like with the xbox, and a way to block the hacked firmware from logging onto live for those pesky accidents. No one expects to be able to play backups on live though anymore, that's not what this is about.

That's great news but what is happening with the NAND reader... I think that now that MS bans xbox360 from Live the scene should concentrate on making homebrew accessible and easy on the Xbox 360.
