How To Install A New Drive

I have seen new drives of the MS25 and the Hitachi/LG 47D on ebay for sale and i was thinking of getting one, because i have a v79 drive which cant be soft flashed.

The question i have is. Is it just as simple as putting the new drive in replacement of the old one and flashing it with a modified firmware? Or is there something else i need to do?

You need to get the key off the v79 first. The only way to do this is to take the flash chip off and have it re-programmed by an external programmer.
