BTW, answer is no because internal flasher doesnt have USB support....yet and the external flasher is for non-78's.

The Fw Stealth was a good idea but it has been proven that the fw could be readed by other means, indeed the newer versions (78+) does not have the need to implement stealth so I think it will not be used anymore.

Why doesn't 78+ need stealth FW?


On Xtreme 1.7 the F900 core and Stealth FW have been removed. This could be seen as a Step Back, but indeed is 2 steps ahead.
By one side we are trying to build one solid application (toolbox) that would make easier the future Hitachi Releases (which currently its a pain because of all the variations) and by other side it incorporates Disc-Jitter check fix for Hitachi drives.

What about this doesn't this make our drives more detectable since its removed all that?

Also, I can not start the program as it moans about the ocx file. I tried downloading it online but I get this error when trying to register it (this must be vista):

Maybe its related to the corrupt file. I fear vista doesn't like it also.

hmm, I have 64-bit vista on my computer and I flashed my drive with fwtoolbox 3.0 just fine.. might be a common user error?

Hey Garyopa QUick ??......... For Hitach v78 drives lets say I dont have the ORiginal key to revert back before flashing to 1.7

-Can I take any original v78 FW key and COPY/Paste my xtreme v1.6 key and click replace key

-THen follow the steps opening the REplaced key to Unpatch xtreme bytes for those 5 sectors

-THen SMart hacker patch to 1.7 and flash back

i have a mar 2006 360, it's fine after the fw update and dash update (hitachi firmware 2.4)

however, my friend's oct 2005 360 is getting artifact errors (not red rings yet) and hangs every time i boot (after turning on about 1 minute) anybody have this problem? i flashed his with no problem and dash update was okay

if only there was a way to revert back for him
