I'm not a noob with flashing by all accounts, however I probably am when it comes to 64-bit. Would I be alright with the GUI version in 64-bit as I know the xtreme firmware had issues? If i'm alright with both versions then that would be great.

Yeah, i have tried to go into safe mode when i got that, didn't work, and in safe mode there are no background programs that will interfere. The third one I now wasn't wrong. But I now tested with a game into the drive and it worked.
Btw I really appreciate that you wanted to help me.

Thanks!

Hello i flash my drive with new firmware , now i open file now.bin with firmware toolbox and click more info , i receive this info [XTRM:MAX:47:2.3] 2.3 ?? no 2.4 ? thx for good work sory my english.

You have to open your original firmware file(was.bin if you flashed it before) with firmware toolbox and patch it and then flash the drive. That is the way I understood it. I used C4EVA_XTRM-HITACHI_v2_4_Stealth instead. Much easier in my opinion.

Cheers!

OK EVERYONE, leave it at that.
I also have my doubts
only case ever mentionned here, much to be confirmed before everyone goes crazy on this.
was he using backups? was there other reason not related to the firmware...

because we everyone else using their FW with no problems!!!

Hi all, I have Hitachi 47dj drive with "Maximus-Garyopa Hitachi-LG Xtreme v2.3 Stealth 8in1 Revision2" firmware and I don't use Live but I was thinking about spring dashboard update as it improves vga picture quallity, do I really need this 2.4 firmware? No plans on playing online as I don't have internet connection at home.

Only if you think you'll be playing XBOX Live any time in the future... If you're not connected to XBOX Live though, it's fine. But no need to update if all you're doing is updating smile.gif

Quick question (I never really figured this one out but I havent' given it much thought until now either)... if you have a Silver account and are not playing a multiplayer game online but still have your broadband connection plugged in, aren't you still technically on Xbox Live since your 'box connects to the M$ servers???

My bet is yes...
