The actual support for 79 drives is only for open files and patch them, not for reading/flashing directly to the drive. You will need remove TSOP.  That maybe will be allowed on future versions

Thanks. Any progress on reading the v79 firmware through software?

Can someone help me out.

I just restore my drive (47DJ) and everything is going fine untill i need to flash it, im using USB-Sata so it says i cant use the internal flasher, i select 47flash.exe and it gives me a runtime error file not found even though the exe is in the folder.

Heya,  Great cant wait to update my hitachi. I'm still thinking about getting a sammy drive tho they just seem to be loads better with firmware altho that could change. Personal i think hitachi has loads of potential more then the sammy....

Erm anyone know the file size of the new firmware? I've just downloaded it but its only 693kb seems abit low.

Thanks

--------- Update
Yes file is right.

Yes... I'm trying to use the internal flasher, but it won't let me. I can flash the sector and whatnot, but when I try to "invoke" the flash program it says.... cannot communicate with drive. Make sure it's visible on windows.. and on the 59.exe shows the runtime error.

FYI - just updated my Elite w/ 78fk to 1.7.  I flashed back to original first, then re-dumped and applied 1.7 just to be safe.  Used the tutorial included w/ the release.  No issues, everything working before works now...went ahead and updated the Dash and tested Live as well, here's hoping jitter correction is good enough!

I'm getting confused now. the app keeps closing out when i try to flash.. Do I wanna go back to the "final.bin".. open  that, and then try to flash, or what?

Says "ROM version: Hitachi-GDR3120L-0059 - [XTRM:MAX:59:V1.7]

Anything in the key information or tag data need to be changed?

exact same situation here.  2 elites v78, both restored, and patch to new fw.  both booted fine, both original and backup of my guitar hero II.  havent updated dash yet on them, but will soon without worry.

I'm using the xecutor usb connectivity kit....chose the 47flash flasher utility....it hung forever.

I think it bricked my drive.  sad.gif

Rebooting into windows....doesn't see the drive.

i think the objective here is to restore, then to patch the original again? That what everyone seems to be getting at?

I restored first. But this new GUI tool does not seem friendly for USB-Sata users. (And I did choose "classic" all the way through.)

Just flashed back to 2.3.

Toolbox seems to HATE flashing the drive through USB-Sata, so for anyone else using one i recommend waiting a few days until its updated or a command line in which we can flash our premade 1.7 firmware in Dos is released.
