I am having the same exact problem. I can do everything but flash the drive in the final step. It asks me to make sure my drive is connected to windows although it had no problem reading it to get the fw. If I tell it to use 59 flash it gives me a different error and then exists out. I was able to put 23s back on it but I want to get this new fw on it. I wonder if you could use the bin that it makes and flash with something older?

QUOTE(angryyoungnpoor @ May 10 2007, 11:48 PM) *

not working. I'm already back at original I believe. When I try to restore is says it's already the original. I tried renaming my 59flash to 59flash.exe. said it couldn't find the file names 59flash.exe.. so I put it back to how it was.
It's back to saying runtime error '53' file not found.

Are you using Vista 32bit by any chance?

I know noone else with a 32 bit pc with sata. This really sucks.

How did you get back to 2.3? I am unable to through the old ms dos way due to gethitv or whatevr it's called not working in x64. I'm a little stuck.

Well the only thing I can think of is we are bothing using vista. Different versions but still. I am getting exactly as far as you with the same drive and all. Has anyone done this with vista without any issues with the new fw? I originally flashed 2.3s with vista with no problem.

Hey, have any of you flashed your drive without restoring it to the original first? They don't recommend it, but the slax cd for some reason won't work on my computer, so the original flash I had to do the cross wires...which I Don't really want to do again because its a huge pain...

Well I flashed back to original by restoring first with the old software and just flashed just like the first time. Although I did get an error on step 7 but it continued anyways.

Not to sound like a complete noob but I don't have a restore.bat because I used the Birdy_Hitachi-LG_friendly_Flasher_v2.2_with_Xtreme_v1.3_and_2.0.rar  I just have my original bios.bin   should I birdy to restore my old firmware and then use the new toolbox?

Also side question If I get windows to recognize my drive then flash it to the original will I have to reboot in between flashing to the new firmware?

I only ask because I don't like doing the cross wire method it makes me nervous so the less time I do that the better.

Has anyone used onboard SIL or PCI card with this toolkit? What were the results?

I emailed garyopa as he said there was a test version of the gethitv or whatever it's called for x64 versions of windows. I guess we'll have to wait for answers. Would have been awesome if they pointed these problems out in the nfo's seing as people were aware of this problem before this release. Now i'm stuck with a system I can't use.

Q1.)I had the same question many months ago as I was in the exact situation then that you are now...

What to do: download Maximus-garyOPA Xtreme 8in1 v2.3r2 and run "restore.bat <your 360 ODD drive letter>" in the command prompt.  You don't need the original flasher or original.bin firmware file because our Hitachi ODD firmware is only patched at certain sectors, not replaced entirely like Samsung.  This will undo the patching and restore your firmware to original.  Then just follow the instructions in the tutorial.txt in this new release and you're all set!

Q2.)Don't reboot between flashing, I didn't and everything turned out alright for me

Hello, I downloaded the Xbox 360 FW Toolbox v3.1

I have a Hitachi v47

I have hacked it previously using Birdy's friendly Hitachi LG flasher

Because of stupidity I lost the original firmware bin

I am using a Windows X86 PC With a SIIG SATA PCI Card

I am using Xecuter's Connectivity Kit

I have my Drive connected properly and the ret LED is on indicating that the drive is initialized in Mode B

I take out all disks and start up my computer

It starts up ok and Windows recognizes the drive and assigns it a drive letter (D:/ because I disconnected all other disk drives in the computer just in case)

I run the program 360 FW Toolbox v3.1 and go to the tools menu and select Direct Drive Dump

I eject the disk tray, insert an original game disk, load the dvd tray, wait 20 seconds

When I try to use the RAW dump it gives me an error that "Could not read from drive"

I restart the program and this process several times with the same result

However when I use classic dump it works fine

It shows the Firmware key and shows that im using the hacked firmware that I installed before

I am not sure why it won't work with RAW dump, I think it might be my PCI card. How can I do the process using the classic dump? Or should I wait for an update or fix. Or should I buy another SATA product.

Thank you, I really appreciate this masterful piece of software. Please dismiss the asses who are ungratefull and keep up the generosity to the scene smile.gif
