I'm currently downloading the 2.3 firmware package. Can we flash to 1.7 with the 2.3 package?

I couldn't get it working at all with my 59.   Raw dump wouldn't work so I did a classic dump.  That seemed to work, but then I couldn't get the patched firmware on the drive no matter what I tried.  I always got the "cannot read from drive" error.  Oh well, I'm going to stick with 2.3s and take my chances on Live.

Now I can't get the old ms dos type to work because I have vista x64. Jesus christ! Come on! I guess I've learned my lesson.. Don't try stuff before you find out it works.

I have a Hitachi 46dj that was flashed with Maximus-garyOPA Xtreme 8in1 v2.3r2.  Connected the ODD to my SATA card natively (i.e. - I didn't use a usb-to-SATA adapter), used restore.bat (which restored firmware to original), followed the tutorial.txt included with Maximus 360 FW Toolbox v3.1 with Garyopa Hitachi-LG Xtreme v1.7 Jitter file, and everything went smooth as silk.  Updated to new Spring Dash with no problems... playing originals and backup as good as ever!  Thanks so much Garyopa, Maximus and C4E for showing some love to the Hitachi owners and bustin' this release out so quickly!!!!

most frustrating thing ever. Where are the files supposed to be? It can't find the 59flash.exe file for whatever reason. Pain in the ass!

all the files are in "360fwtoolbox_31.rar"

I have that, but when I go to flash it won't find the 59flash.exe file. Doesn't find it then closes out.

Open the command propmpt, cd the prompt to the directory that has the files you used on your previous flash, enter the command "restore.bat <your 360 ODD drive letter>" to restore your firmware to original status, then simply extract the files in '360fwtoolbox_31.rar' and follow tutorial.txt

not working. I'm already back at original I believe. When I try to restore is says it's already the original. I tried renaming my 59flash to 59flash.exe. said it couldn't find the file names 59flash.exe.. so I put it back to how it was.
It's back to saying runtime error '53' file not found.
