Disk Boot Error Every Time I Try And Boot From Usb
« on: May 09, 2007, 04:46:00 PM »

Ok so Im trying to flash my ms28 Samsung drive for the first time. I decided to use myfrancos step by step instructions. So i ordered the sata card I needed for flashing ms28 and a flash usb. So I installed the sata card and everything went fine making the Xtreme usb stick with Xtreme Boot Maker.  So now Im at the step where I need to boot from the usb stick but I get the Disk Boot Error message everytime I boot from anything besides my pc hdd. changed the boot priority in bios so USB FDD is the first boot priority and only. I just dont understand I messed around with it for hours and searched the forums and couldnt get the usb stick to boot. Just tell me if you guys need anymore info for you to help me.

I had the same problem yesterday.. if you're connecting your USB device in the front, try connecting it to a USB port in the back of your PC. Secondly, disconnect your CD/DVD drives, and HDD's.

I tried putting the USB in the back already but I didnt try unpluging any IDE devices. I'll try it and report back!

Didnt work same thing happens (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

This is the screen that always pops up...

------------------------------------------
USB storage device: Flash Disk
Pri. Master Disk HDD S.M.A.R.T. Capability Disabled (if enabled windows will boot)

(then a list of all my pci drives in brackets)

Updating ESCD... Success
Verifying DMI Pool Data...........
Disk Boot Failure, Instert System Disk and press enter
------------------------------------------

Why does this screen come up? I just want to flash the damn drive it seems very simple but this technical crap came into play. You guys got any suggestions?

prob tried it already but

1, you have set ya bios to boot from usb aint ya, just unplugging the drives wont do this

2, you defo clicked on format/mke bootable when ya did the stick

i'm sure you have done these 2 things but it's usually the little things like that which come back and bite you in the a**
