What sense does it make to report a MS25 as an MS28 (if any)? uhh.gif

Some further info, the firmware should be available for all HItatchis including the 78 and 79, no software flash for 79 still as of yet. Watch out for C4EVA_XTRM-HITACHI_v2_4_Stealth coming soon.

Any ideas how long

another thing with that hitachi firmware would be the quiet drive mod. and also single layer.

But I suspect when they havent done it by now it cant actually not be done?

no that is not the equivalent of xtreme5.3 for hitachi, ONLY a patch to allow hitachi to address the jitter issue. only that.

Edit: no need to ask if the dash update is out yet, connect your x360 and go on live, you will know.

STOP asking if the update is out, again connect you x360 and try.

Ok only thing I can verify is this, as of Today only.  Tomorrow could be a diffrent story.  I flashed my drive {MS25 Samsung} to the original.bin firmware, and then I did the spring update to my Xbox.  I can still play Dead Rising and Final Fantasy Online on Xbox live.  Understand these are original games I have not try backups yet.  pop.gif

P.S. That was just some news’s not the word of god.

I have a ms25 drive which was previously flashed with Xtreme 5.2A, working fine to play backups and originals. I tried flashing 5.3A after combining it with my drive key and using the enable0800 disc to unlock, and all seemed to go well, but the xbox now refuses to boot any games at all. No backups, no originals. It just sits there saying "reading" for about two minutes, then an error.

I've now reflashed it back to 5.2A and it works perfectly.

Any suggestions?

That sounds like the old rubberband problem.  But that was fixed in xtreme 5.2 Disk-LockOn. Do's it say "open tray" after it can't read the disk maybe new update is buggy.

Nope, it just says it couldn't read it after, like, two minutes. I've used 5.2 for a couple of months and never had a single problem with it, and it's working fine again now that I flashed 5.2 back on there.

Bearkilla  backups/retail games all give the 'to play this disc, put it in an xbox360 console' error

biggrin.gif

I to had this error, when I when back to my orig.bin file.  I fixed it by reflashing the drive I have had no problems sense.  It seems to me that even when you think the flash when't OK it doesn't.  uhh.gif
