I find that with 5.2b If I power up my xbox and it last played a backup then it won't play an original if I put a backup in first. Weird. Once the box reads a backup I eject and it then reads the original. Now if I power it off and power it backup it will read both the original first fine and the backup afterwards. Just seems to be if I last played a backup and powered it off. then powered it up and put an original in then it has a hard time reading the original until I put in a backup so that it reads it then swap it out with the original.

If the user is using crappy media and/or a crappy burner, reading the backup at 12x may result in dre's.

Quick question i have a samsung ms25 drive in an xbox 360 that originaly came with a hitachi drive the samsung is flashed with xtreme 5.2c spoofed to a hitachi. I am planning on using textbooks guide bad flash recovery method with xtremebootmaker i have the via sata card i just need to know if i use fw xtreme 5.3 d bin because the drive was already spoofed or if i have to respoof the drive and use fw 53d-ht59.bin

with xtreme boot maker what does the option apply boke patch do? i know you are supposed to with ms28 drives just wasnt sure if i should with a ms25 and never actually knew what it was

Boke's patch, found in the latest Xtreme Boot Maker, forces MTKFlash to list all drives, even if only one drive is found. So, instead of auto-selecting your 360 drive, it will go to a list of drives (with only the 360 drive in the list abviously).

Also too, I'm not sure if you may have noticed, but the cd also spins much slower. Resulting in a wayyyy quieter xbox 360 while playing games. I personally would rather sit an extra few seconds each time i see the loading screen than have to listen to my xbox360's loud dvd drive. On games which use streaming data, like crackdown, the difference in load times between 5.3a and 5.3b are hardly even noticable.

Hello !

I have an old 2005.dec X360 with Samsung Drive supposed to be an MS25. It has an Extreme3.x Firmware on it. For the new firmware i would like to do the job myself, but i need a little help.
Do i need the MS25 spoofed one, or i just need the standard 5.3x ?
This thing with the ms28 and ms25 drives is a little confusing for me yet.... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

i'm having the exact same problem, plays backups fine but when i put an original in it just says reading on the dash and does nothing.
anyone know how to fix this?

I have 5.2B installed on my MS25 that came with my 360 can I just overwrite this firmware with 5.3B using Xtremebootmaker without any problems?

With an 0800 Disc, yes.
