Hi All, first of all, i want to say that i already google and already tested and tried all the things mentioned in forums online. Read like 3000 Posts and nothing seems to work, so your help will be thankful.

I did successful xbox360 hacks using the VCC method which includes molding and so on, its all easy, no problem.

But this time, i screwed up somewhere and i get the things below:

Tried using SAMREAD XXXXXXX YYYYY and SAMREAD YYYYY XXXXXXX results are:
Flash Type: "SST(SST25VF040)(Serial)"
Reading.....00%
And it stays there.

Now other xbox360s i hacked had a diff SST of <Flash: "SST(SST25VF020)> but this time it is as you see, tried using the MTKFash way and here are the results too:
mtkflash r /m orig.bin
Flash Type: "SST(SST25VF040)(Serial)"
Reading.....00%
And it stays there.

Now if i add the /sata this is the result:
mtkflash r /sata /m orig.bin
Flash Type: "ST(M25P40V6)(Serial)"
Reading.....00%
And it stays there.

huh.gif huh, right?

Any suggestions?   uhh.gif

Question 2:
=======
If you all have no solution, can you please tell me what can i now do to make my xbox work?
Shall i buy a new Samsung MS28? Will it work with my xbox? or needs flashing sth? I don't have the orig.bin for this xbox360 DVD, but i have other orig.bins, would they help?
or shall i buy the DVD Board from the manufacturer or sth, any ideas?

I am desperate here since i tried everything. Using VCC was the best way to recognise the DVD without waiting the 10 seconds and those other methods using the via chipset.

sad.gif I'll be waiting for your comments.

Thank you very much in advance everyone.  pop.gif

SST25VF040  are you sure you are trying to flash the right Drive,
is all other IDE  and SATA devices disconnected?

not 100% sure but it should say SST39SF...

Dear sosotiit thank you for your fast reply, but yes i am sure, it gives me SST(SST25VF040) and that other ST(m25p40v6).

Now i find it strange that you say it should say SST39SF... maybe you are right and lots of xboxes do give that, dunno, but from the thousands of posts i read, and in addition to all th xboxes i have hacked, it says  SST(SST25VF020) and without that (Serial) thing.

So..  uhh.gif

Ok, if you have disconnected all the rest and that you are sure.

because I think I receive that SSt25... when I do firmware upgrade on some DVD burner.

what chipset do you have? and how have you done your USB drive (XBM?)

I did not use any USB, i used a floppy disk with the SAMREAD and mtkflash on it. Same floppy i use always.
As for which chipset, if you mean am i using a VIA chipset? the answer is no.

If you meant what is my mobo, its an Intel 865PERL. I am using the VCC way instead of the VIA and 10 Sec wait thing. the VCC is far more stable and its straight forward. i mean no wait time and trials in counting seconds and so on.

So... uhh.gif

Assume you do not have a via chipset available to try a bad flash method  sad.gif ,

honestly, not sure about this one.

Nope i do not have the VIA chipset, but i would get one if it would fix anything, what is this bad flash method thing? is this a bad flash?

Now about the other question as well, what are the chances infront of me in getting my xbox360 to work again. would buying a new Samsung MS28 from sth i.e. ebay and put it in my xbox360 fix it? ANY suggestions are thankful.

Yea, seems like to me you are going to have to get yourself a VIA Chipset SATA Card, the way I flashed my MS28 is kind of like the 10 sec, but without the counting

Another thing is the floppy. I have heard floppies are not any good at doing the flashes, I highly recommend the USB.

Whenever I do this, I wait untill my computer boots to the USB drive, then turn on the 360

Type in ' MTKFlash w /m xxxx.bin '

With this method, I left one DVD Burner plugged in, and it gave me the option to flash either 1.IDE Channel or 2. Via Chipset SATA Channel

at this time, you turn off your 360

The very second after you press 2, turn your 360 back on and it should work

Thank you for posting, oks, i will get the via chipset though i dont think it will work, since i can already read the SST version from the chip then i think my mobo is working without the need for the via chipset, but i will hear from you and i will buy the via chipset, any specific version i should get?

The only thing connected is your Xbox 360 drive right????

No hard drives.. no cd/dvd rom drives...

Do you have a copy of your firmware with a good key??

Yeah Havok, nothing connected. But still hangs on 00% and with that strange SST...040..(Serial) thing.

As for the copy of my firmware, nope, this is what am trying to do and its not working, so basically i have a dead dvd drive lets say and no orig.bin. what are my options here? i would pay for a new dvd drive or sth if i have to.

Any suggestions? Thanx

If you don't have the original.bin or drive key then you are stuffed. You cannot use a new drive without a drive key that is matched to your motherboard. The cheapest option would be to get someone to remove the SST chip and try retrieving the f/w from it externally. If the chip has become corrupt or damaged then the only options would be either a new motherboard (with drive key available) or a new 360.
