He keeps saying support for other consoles than 360 is "FREE". I guess Im not understanding that. How is it free? If you buy it for your 360, its gonna be stuck in your 360 till you desolder it, which most people will just leave alone. Its extra features become useless. Of course, if you buy it with modding your PS2, Wii or whatever in mind, its no longer "FREE" because your spending money to mod your console (and possibly more expensive, and bulkier than existing chips).

this chip could be wired externally through a sub d panel mount to the connecting points inside of each console. then the chip could be free to jump from machine to machine, just by changing cables.
or even encase the chip with all the different console connections to ports on the case of the chip.
then all you would need are the interconnect cables for each console.
it could really work i think.

No ribbon connector?  How the hell are we supposed to use it to hack the Saturn's CD authentication?

Umm.. well http://pictures.xbox...s/infectus3.JPG it honestly doesn't look too big to me. Although those pictures were before the added PS3 and Wii support, so it could be much bigger now..

also
Guess it was the "angle of the dangle" that made it look huge in the photo that i linked.

HI Guys,

INFECTUS team want to give only one product for many uses, here I explain potential customers again

XBOX360 =
- who want to have a dualfirmware with usb connectio (so don`t want to open every time the case of X360)
- who want to have access to NAND flash of X360 BIOS (for hacker etc now, in the future don`t know) this functionality will be avaiable after PS3 NAND FLASHER is ready (because X360 have a nand flash too will be simple to give access to X360 bios too)

PS2 =
- Who want a last generation mod like DMS4 etc... O2MOD have a lot of TOOLS for PS3 and support DNAS PATCH (if someone check www.o2mod.com understand that who want the max from PS2 choose this modchip)

PS3 =
- Infectus will allow you to read and write the NAND BIOS flash, all through the USB port and an easy PC program. PS3 hacking will be the same of PSP, so downgrade and Upgrade of firmware will be the target soon.
- Real time patching of BIOS (this is not ready right now, but modchip is ready to be programmed for that functionality.. we are waiting for first hacked firmware to see what happen)

WII =
- Like PS3 and X360, we will develope WII NAND BIOS FLASHER.. complete accesso to BIOS of WII for developers.

HOME BREW SCENE =
- In the next weeks will be avaiable the HOME BREW VERSION, this version is complete BLANK, the USB connection work as fact like a JTAG programming port, so you can use INFECTUS for develope of VHDL or VERILOG projects... No more necessary to buy ACTEL DEV KIT for 300 USD !!! to start home developers can buy infectus... The USB program manager will be setup to manage the FPGA FILE PROJECTS.

I hope now is clear what INFECTUS can do, and we are OPEN to recieve suggestions for new features... !!!

BYE  FOR NOW
OSCAR

It's a good progress and it's multi-functional.I believe that might be a god idea for downgrading ps3 firmware.

$1 to the first person to wire one of these chips into all 4 consoles at once!  biggrin.gif

I've usually thought of the dual-system (or quad-system in this case) chips as a cool idea, but ultimately not worth it for most people. However, if the price was the same compared to a chip that only did one system, I certainly would pick this one up instead.
In all my years of chipping and flashing I've never needed to remove a chip... but knowing that the option to re-use that chip exists couldn't hurt.

LMAO at the manufacturers comment, they say they have encrypted there chip with 128 bit encryption to avoid Chinese market.LMAO...China is big on Piracy and Asia is even bigger on PS3...Chinese WILL eventually get there hands on PS3 Mod-Chips or may even develop one because Millions of Dollars are at stake.
