Wouldn't be Xecuter if it wasn't late smile.gif  They're perfectionists almost to a fault, this time it may hurt them as its a bit late to market.  I'm sure it'll still sell but its not as useful as it would have been 4-6 months ago but whatever, it will work.

To those who think Xecuter are badmouthing competition..how would you feel if a design you created was stolen, made inferior and cheaper and beaten to market on?  When that Top Gear piece of shit was announced everyone here said Xecuter was charging too much for their product.  In this press release Xecuter respond to those comments.  Whats the problem?

There will always be a less expensive, more difficult way of doing things for true enthusiasts.

Yeah, and that's the problem.  If Xecuter wants my money, they need to make something that I can't easily achieve with relatively little effort.  They haven't done that yet.  And they know that.  They admitted it in their interview a couple weeks back, and I commend them on their honesty.  Unlocking kits, connectivity kits, X360USB, and now this Blaster360 all have cheaper alternatives.

Whether you are buying this or not, you have to commend Xecuter on their dedication.  They've spent months on this thing, and the design with the 2x2 headers through the grill holes is just genious.  Say what you will about them, that they're making "noob" products (and they are imo) , but they are the last remaining "scene" team we have.  At least they're making something.  I don't see Xodus or SmartXX working hard on anything.

Xecuter:  I want a dual kernel NAND chip, without having to pay $80 for the only programmer that supports HY27 TSOP48 Nand chips.  That's one thing I would be itching to buy.

Well I want one of these, mainly because I don't knwo how many times I'll be flashing my drive.  I haven't done it at all yet, but will it let me flash back to the original firmware if I wanted?  And what drive DOESN'T it work with?

I'm not sure what the economy is like and whether or not you're employed where you live, but paying the equivilant of 2 xbox controllers for something like this is quite reasonable in the US.  Having the average user pull apart their xbox and hacking together a $6 setup for upgrading/downgrading bios or ripping games is impractical.  There will always be a less expensive, more difficult way of doing things for true enthusiasts.

If you don't know what a cheap China ripoff looks like, browse Ebay sometime.  There is a difference.  Better molds for the plastic means less soft edges and a higher quality product.  More durable materials means the product will last with use.  There's a thing once known as craftsmanship that is quickly fading from this planet.

An original Xecuter design means that they came out with a revolutionary design, and someone looking to make a quick buck duplicated 95% of that design.  Some companies can't make an honest dollar, almost Cliche in this market..
Also, for the haters..

Don't think for a second there aren't THOUSANDS of people waiting on the sidelines for Xbox copies/homebrew to become easier.  This product will sell extremely well, showing up in little boutique shops and resellers around the planet.

Oh i agree with your craftsmanship statement 100%, i for example refuse to use any joypad unless its official, i wont even paint it to match my console through fear of loosing the feel of an original pad.  But from what i can gather the other product that does the same job as this hasnt reached retail yet, thus branding it a cheap china rip off is unjustafiable at this point.  It could very well be an inferior product, but untill both units are available to an unbiased consumer for use, then i firmly believe that such comments are totally uncalled for.

Also from an installation point, the sata extention and the xecuter kit are no different.  Both options require you to first disassemble your console.  How else can it interface with the dvd rom unit without disassembly?

Also the hacking together a kit sentance makes it sound like i did something extreme, believe me its not.  I simply took a sata cable female to male, which was store bought, and plugged that into my dvd drive then used the standard pre installed male to male sata cable and connected it to the extender.  There was enough room for me to squeeze it through the ethernet/USB port on the rear of the console.  I dont have what i consider an unsightly bulge on the front of my console and i have external access to my dvd rom.  All for the price of $6.

On a side note, i have owned xecuter products for the previous xbox. they provided us with great bios's and great chips... i just dont like arogance from people aiming to take your hard earned.

I have flashed my 360 once with garyopa firmware and have never needed to reflash. Not sure what the endless stream of updates have accomplished, but as long as I dont run into a game that wont work, I wont ever flash it again.

However..... where I see a use for this product is for people like myself who flash other peoples 360's. Most the people i have done this for wouldnt be able to open the case let alone build there own adapter. You have to realize that most people in the world do not have the technical reasoning skills that would allow them to figure out this entire process (flashing). A good high quality product like this would make it a lot  easier for average joe to reflash there 360, after it is initially flash by some one like me or anyone else in the scene who installs modchips and such.

Just my two cents.

If you're getting this kit, get yourself something like this as well...

Sata plate

So you don't have to keep opening up your PC. The kit should come with one at that price!

I WONT BUY AND ADVISE YOU DO THE SAME!

Their forums are trolled by there own moderators... ask a civil question and get abuse back... customer support...? Non existent...

Buy Xeno, its cheaper, less flashy and it works just as well... without the bullshit from their forum moderators!

exactly just buy 2 of them or better yet, find a single bracket with 2 ports. laugh.gif

this was my solution last fall. check it out! i had to spend more than $6 because i needed some metal snips and a dremel, but it was still less than $50 for the first console i did like this.

hey guys,

I kinda read really quick about the product but it still didn't answer my question, what exactly is this thing for? Is this for flashing a firmware and playing copied games? What about Xbox Live and their updates, is it safe from being banned? just curious, sorry for the lame question.

thanks in advance,
