Help! Drive Won't Eject, Power Light Flashing !
« on: March 14, 2007, 08:30:00 AM »

I had the same problem with my Samsung ms28. But mi was when I was writing the firmware. I used the "Xtreme Boot Maker v0.3.6" to make my bootable USB drive and to flash the drive.

If you have a ms28 is just about timing to get it done. When my was in this state (no eject and green light flasing) I tried several times to flash it again with the 5.2d. Finally I writed the original.bin again and then flash the hacked 5.2d. You should be fine just keep trying. I was about 2 hours in this process until I get correct timing to turning the Xbox 360 on/off to get the drive detected and sucessfully flashed.

the only thing i did is type xread to backup the firmware, and then repower the pc and xbox. now the drive won't eject, and power light is flashing.

When I got that error was when writing the firmware. The process stopped writing the 2nd bank at 10%. Then I turned on the 360 and the PC again and the drive was "dead" (no eject, no laser sound). I don't understand how your drive come to that state. In my case the problem was solved flashing the original firmware back to the drive (I tried with the hacked but was still getting the blinking light and dead drive). Have you tried to flash the original firmware back to the drive?

PS. I used the 10sec trick to read and write to my Samsung.

Did you plug it back into the 360? Sorry it's a stupid thing to say but just check.
