yes and no ... the idea is probably taken from Xecuter, however ... they have a different tech design approach.
Check out the manual posted on the original announcement:
http://www.xbox-scen...lpVXtIXRKGo.phpIt's a much simpler design (they use an SATA cable with 3 connectors) ... no Power Control Unit and Multiplex Switching Unit like the Blaster360.
I guess it has advantages (like: cheaper) and disadvantages (like: remove metallic cage, no mode-B switch).
However I can't really compare them until I have a sample of both (like: how do they compare if you try to use it for game ripping).
you forgot one disadvantage, you have to have the 360 on with this one where with the blaster you can just plug a molex connector in and have power to the drive
exactly, i recently did one of thease mods, verry simple; i took a dual external sata adaptor (about $15 shipped) and cut out 2 holes in the back of the cage and case and just hot glued them on there, then i used the original cable to bridge the sata ports for playing, all you had to do to flash is take out one side and hook it up to your computer
verry nice design, would be better if they included a modeb switch on this one as well
